it seems like every gt or 5.0 owner over here are a-holes. i try not to street race but this guy was a biatch. i was stopped behind two cars at a light when this 96 or 97 gt is coming up in the next lane over. he slows down and looks right at me. now he's two cars up and a lane over and insists on revving like a mad man. he takes off with a pretty nice exhaust tone. but i'm stuck in the traffic. the other cars turn and i see the stangs taillights, we seem to be going in the same direction. i catch up easily and now we're stopped at a one lane turn so i'm right behind him. he smashes the gas waiting for me to bite and i do, but we're still in a one lane street and i don't wan't be an @ss and pass him. so i'm just toying with this guy as he's trying his hardest to speed off. i'm just hardly pressing the gas on my a4 z28. i'm right on his *** and finally we get to a two lane street. so i gun it while this guy is just watching me pass him. he tried to catch up but it was too late. luckily i didn't even have to go over 80 mph. it seemed like i was pulling this guy at about 5 cars a second. this guy ended up getting beyond smoked.he won't be picking on any ls1's for a while. i know there are a lot of people with mustangs who are cool, i've just never seen one in my city.

I don't know about your town, but here Mustang guys are like imports guys. Some of them are cool and actually have a brain, but some of them are total dumbasses who think that their nearly stock 5 liter can take on anything. The only way to can reason with them is to do exactly what you did--kick some ***! Even then, getting them to admit that their car isn't all that is like, well like this: <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> .

But its not just stangs its everyone in every car.You cant even say that some ls1 owners dont act like @sses. There parents go out and finance one they put exhaust on and run there mouths. Thats why I like beatin on those cocky spoiled brats whether its rice, stang, chevy and my favorite the old farts in the leadsleds.

Well, out here in Kansas I have several stang friends with stocker v-8 and some modified, and I think a v-6 f-body would beat these <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . My t/a can kick lots o butt. Out we have women young to old driving these, and young men trying to take my brand on and seem to fail every time. That is until they have mom and dad buy a supercharger or NOS and then they want to race. They don't want to race pure power rather they want to race with dollars signs.

Funny how many people in here say "Man, those mustangs are slow" but their sig shows a nearly stock LS1. If you're going less than 120 in the 1/4 it's a matter of the pot calling the kettle black.

most the ls1 cars i run across must read this board to often. they end up being cocky and think they can lay it on any mustang.

Wassup i8a4re, I live near Fremont. Most of the stang drivers over here are either girls, old men, mostly the V6 models. Never seen a cobra. But the real nice cars come out on friday, oh and so do the cops <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

i believe him mustangs are slow, i had a 2000 GT 4.10 gears mac prochamber h pipe magnaflow exhaust and ran a 14.1 at 103 powershifting it. and i beat the hell outta 5.0's

Also a 97 is not a 5.0 and if you want some mustang action let me know. I have owned 8 mustangs and I still own three. Comparing ricers to mustangs is bullshit, I would like to pop you in the face for that.

I have an 03 cobra(11.86 @119) and an 93 cobra(12.4@111 that will put a hurt on.

The bad thing is most knowledgeable people who enjoy mustangs, also enjoy camaros, since they are v8's and american made....

I will buy a camaro before I die......

five point slows, four point sick's, they do the same thing--run to damn slow against a stock ls1's without a poweradder. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the Mustang as much as any Blue Oval boy would but for the performance you get from a stock F-body, can't be beat. I have several friends with 'stangs, and have very few with the fun-body style cars. We all get along, you know why, we don't car for the Hondas, Acuras, Nissans, etc. We hate how they come down the street, sounding like wet farts, blastin' their stereos, and wanting to race you with their body kits. There are very few rice rockets in my state, that can even run close enough to worry about here. I am pretty sure for those of you out there with the 'stang or f-body would agree, whether it is a blue oval or bowtie or poncho, it is American built.

sonic bullet, there is no need to be so mad. and i said gt's and 5.0's. meaning the 4.6's and 5.0's. i wasn't even trying to compare ricers and mustangs. that was a whole different subject. i wasn't even trying to talk **** about mustangs, i was just trying to say it seems like everyone that lives over here tries to get all crazy. even ricers and ls1's. and to the guy who called BS on me, i said " it seemed" like i was pulling him 5 cars a second. not that i actually did. come on now.

It's the same around here. I'm 17 so the majority of all my friends have 5.0s, and none of my friends can take my stock WS6 except 2 or 3 kids who graduated last year. But there are a few guys I know that have 20 grand into their fox bodys and I can respect that. where I am all we have is ***** wanna-bees in their ricers or cavaliers, stangers that WILL NOT ATTEMPT to race LS1's and a small hand full of us LS1 guys. I had a '87 IROC with 98000 km's and some idiot pulled out in front of me with his mom's car and i t-boned him and that was that for the ROCK! Bought an LS1 shortly after the wreck and no one has had the ***** to line up with me yet! 318 bhp is a ricers worst nightmare on the streets here! <img border="0" alt="[worship]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> The funny thing is that when the wife drives it to work while i'm maintaining her daily driver, she tells me about the tuff guys who rev-up beside her and she laughs as she blows them away. I'm not saying that the LS1 is the best car ever made, but it's damn close. How much money did it take me to run mid to low 13's? Not a lot--I bought a lid and I did some free mods. How much does it take for MOST stangs to run mid to low 13's. A hell of a lot considering most run in the 15 second range stock (not 13.9 or lower like the LS1). Don't try to call me out on stangs, my friend, my first car was a stang and my best friend is a serious mustang guy. I know more about mustangs than a lot of guys who drive them. So you've got a fast one, well your in a minority. My buddy's dropping s&*tloads of money into his engine, and he still will probably only equal my car. Like I said a NEARLY STOCK 5.0 runs about a mid 15 (my friend's did with intake and exhaust), can that beat my car--HELL NO. Does a guy in that kind of car who thinks he can beat my car deserve to be called a dumbass--HELL YES. My problem is not with Mustangs, it's with people who have no grip on reality.
