Default 96 Z28 LT1 vs. 99 T/A

My car in sig (times aren't current at all) vs this 99 T/A
-Borla Catback (open)
-MTI Lid
-B&M Ripper
From a dig....
Well my old roommate wanted to run and we finally got the chance. He had his g/f in his car, and I had no passenger. I launched at a little over 2K and spun a little at first and then nailed it. He spun some too, but not sure how much. I jumped out 1 car immediately which surprised me. Then I slammed second and jumped out another half car at least. His car is a 6 speed and he can drive about as well as me. Banged third and the gap was about 2 car lengths. It stayed that way through the top of 4th. We topped out at a little over 100. Hard to say because my speedo is off a little bit.

It felt good to chalk one up for the ol 120K mile LT1. I can only say my 4.10s helped me, because other than that cars mods are similiar. Yessss....last race before the new shortblock goes in with a fresh cam/ port job.

How not current are your times?
How similar are your mods?

Well the times in sig were on an opti **** on its way out...about 500 miles later to be exact. Without LT4 heads (w/ 3angle valve job....I had a cracked head that caused the car to overheat on a trip home from school...big $$$$) And...although I can't find my slips for the life of me, it was when I only had the car for a bit and only cut 2.2 60's and up.

And yeah, I knew the flaming was going to come. I knew it. I bet my car could eek out a 13.2 at about the same mph with a 2.0 60' or something like that.

Your betting on a 13.2 and put two car lengths on a lightly modded ls1? Either he cant drive, you run faster than 13.2, or the outcome wasn't that drastic.

So you're saying that a mild bolt on LS1 with a decent driver should always run faster than say a 13.5? I don't think thats too out of line. How much is a car length at the track? I always thought it was about a tenth....that adds up to me, correct me if I'm wrong....

I'd sure hope a decent driver could put a mild bolt on ls1 under a 13.5. Most can get that in stock form. Good kill.

A stock M6 LS1 should be able to hit 13.2 @ 105 in decent conditions. The M6's are strong cars with the right driver. After a few bolt-ons he should be able to hit a high 12. Evan Smith hit a 12.8 in a stock LS1 but he is an exceptional driver. ET and trap wise your friends car is still stronger. Just not in his hands

Good kill and keep the mods coming.
