Default Firehawk vs. Mach1???

Hey just wondering because i have heard alot of different stuff lately. How would my 2002 Firehawk do against a Mach 1 being that both cars are stock and manuals?

If you can drive as well or better than the Mach driver than you should win, the firehawk will have more top end if the Mach is all stock.

Stock for stock both with equal drivers you'll win up top. He'll inch out on you out of the hole, those cars love to be launched. Around 60 you will have made up what ever small lead he pulled on the launch, and by 90 you'll be putting ground down in your favor. Their cars pull hard down low, ares pull harder up top.

I wouldnt go that far. You should edge him out by half a car more likely. Remember these cars are 13.1-13.5 cars in stock form with a strong low end. They still rev to 6800 and still have that upper rpm pull, but their lower torque and gearing is suited for it.

No buddy, on stock goodyear rubber... Different drivers can do different things with a car.. I also saw an LS1 TA with exhaust run some 14.5's so does that mean thats what most of them run.. No it doesn't, but that is what that one ran with that driver..

Yeah, Mach's are low-mid 13 second cars for the most part, just as LS1's are ... the difference is that the Mach's get there via a slightly faster 0-60ish, and the LS1's make up the difference past the 60-70mph mark.

I honestly think the skill of the driver and the speed at which you race plays a huge part when racing a mach.

Good luck

Yah cause my friend told me that a WS6 and a Mach is a close race giving the edge more towards the WS6 though, but that because my Firehawk is a little bit lighter than a WS6 and has a bit more power, that i should be able to put about a car and half on him, but thats him speaking do i dont know, guess im just going to have to race one.

Your about right on, on the hp and tq numbers.. Mine put down 289rwhp and 311rwtq bone stock.. The LS1's weight about 200lbs + more then the Machs and that plays a big part in racing..

I raced one on the freeway from 70 and I got about a car and half on him till about 100 or 110 then it stayed that way till about 140.

i honestly think you should spank that mach. im not too impressed with those mach 1. you figure your 02 firhawk atleast dynos 300ish rwhp. and ive seen dynos on machs only putting out like 270. so you have the advantage.

There's more to racing than just dyno numbers.

RWHP/RWTQ, gearing (both rear & trans), available traction, weight & driving skill (or lack thereof) all come into play.

If racing was as simple as "My dyno sheet is better than yours", then everyone would just stay home & compare dyno runs to determine who's faster.
