Depends on what mods he has. The vr4 is an AWD TT-V6 rated at 320 stock. They are the one of the harder hi-po japanese cars to get power out of. What year, the later ones have a 6 spd?

I hope i can beat him but i don't know i think it will be close. i been with him in a couple of races and ive seen him pull 2 cars on a saleen281 not s/c or anything but they only race about an 1/8. but i guess will see pretty soon.

If he has the aforementioned mods plus upgraded turbos, you're toast. Sorry. You don't need fuel controls and a FMIC until you upgrade the turbos. If the guy can drive worth a crap, he's gonna pull some low 1.7/high 1.6 60' times on crappy radials. Then you're only going to race an 1/8th of a mile??? Advantage AWD turbo on every front. Run him at least a 1/4 mile so you'll have a chance to pull back the 4-5 car lengths he's going to put on you right from the get go. And whoever says these cars are hard to make horsepower with really doesn't know anything about the 3/S platform. Sorry again.

That's why the fastest one is stuck in the 10's
On the horsepower thing. The 3/S is easy to make horsepower with. It's just a bitch to keep together once you start making power. The transfer case should be on a car with half the weight and horsepower stock. It gets really fragile once you start putting down some power.

No he doesn't have upgraded turbo's yet but he will pretty soon but right now he is still on stock turbo, and we were probly going to race from about 30-traffic or one of us has acouple of lengths. but his car is a 93 so it only had 300hp stock but now with all those mods i don't know what he's got. but yeah those tranies suck he had to replace the input shaft, clutch, and flywheel like the second day he had it.so he is kinda scared to launch so.he will prob pull away to about 80 or 90 and then the awd will slow him down. I"ll post results in acouple of days.

If you run him from a 30 roll, you're going to win. You've taken away his advantage. Just to give you an example of how a TT 1st gen can run (almost) stock though. On a 40 degree day (it's MUCH, MUCH slower in the heat BTW), I made a single pass down my local 1/8th mile track after driving 2 hours to get there. No cool down period whatsoever. I pulled a 1.77 60' time and that turned into an 8.11 @ 85.86 MPH. My car has a 15 dollar boost controller turned up to 15 PSI, a better clutch so I could actually launch the car and the exhaust was cut off right after the Stillen downpipe. No other mods. The car weighed 3800 pounds w/o me and I'm pushing 380. Yep, both the car and myself are overweight pigs. I've raced my 93TT against my 2000 Camaro SS A4 several times. In a 1/4 mile it's damned close with the 93TT jumping out to a 3-4 car length headstart and holding that advantage through the 1/8th mile mark. The last 1/8th belongs to the SS. Though it doesn't always catch the TT, it always starts making up ground. My SS is stock except for a converter, a 3.42 geared 12 bolt rear that actually slows me down, a Loudmouth cat back and a lid. It's run 8.20's @ 86 MPH in the 1/8th. Anything over about 80 MPH and the SS is gaining ground. If you take the race from 30 to over 100, you should start pulling pretty good. From a dig, you may be in trouble.
