I think the LS1 has a small advantage tho. 99/01 Cobras are not geared so great, they are not in there powerband till higher in the RPMs thats why ya see alot of high 13s and some 14 seconds ones. With just a 4.10 or 4.30 the Cobras are strongly hit there powerband quick and can pull 13.0s or better.

I raced one at the track just the other night, wasnt sure on the exact year but i knew it wasnt one of the S/C ones-i lined up with him and i ended up red lighting, i have never red lighted before so i guess it confused me an i just stopped-when the light went green he took off an i just sat there for a second, we'll he got about a car an half on me before i took off-i caught him quick an passed him like he was standing still, an this was in the 1/8, idk? maybe he missed a gear or something?

No contest. The LS1 will walk the 99 cobra if they both are stock. The 99 cobra makes 320 hp and dyno around 270-280rwhp. The LS1 is rated at 320 but dynos around 290-305 rwhp.
The LS1 makes too much power and the 99 can't keep up. However, if the 99 c0bra driver is good and the WS6 driver isn't, then the cobra can pull the win.

1999 was the recall year for Cobra's, I raced an 01 with my wife in the car. He had ET Drags and at the time I had only a lid. The 01 took me out of the hole but when the car's rpm came up it was over. 13.4's to his 13.6, Cobra's need 4.10's or better.

I weighed my GT on 2 certified scales and it was 3320 on both give or take a little.
The Cobra is about 3500#.
98SuperSport: The 4v is not a torq monster by any means. I see what your saying about the LS1 benifiting from a gear but that year and earlier Cobras rev high and don't have much lowend power to begin with. They Benefit a gear way more then an LS1. LS1s aready have a strong powerband the cobra need to be put in it.

My buds GT weighed 3480 with him out of it. 3720 raceweight, he weighs 240.
So a 50 lb difference. He does have a sub box with two 10's or 12's and a amp in the back. Then I have a 10" sub in the back as well. But by all means this guys TA doesn't weigh 400lbs more.

The 99 Cobra is not very fast this is one of the years they made the cobra with out a supercharger. My friend has one with a lot of money in his, with a vortec supercharger on it, and it still only runs mid 12. So i think you should be able to take him.
