Last night I was downtown and a friend of mine rolled up with his 2005 Red GTO auto (Bone Stock).. we satt and talked for a while about all of the cars downtown and in the town n especially all the f*****g ricers that this town is loaded with. Then about 45 mins rolls by n its about 11:00 PM when my buddy that has a Modded 02 GTP rolss up..he's h/c, pullied, exhaust and a few other minor ones that I cant think of right now... and he decides to ask the GTO if ghe wants to run 'em and he agrees.. we debated on where to go b/c our town is crawlin with cops these days so we decided to go out into the country.. it was a nice cool night about 65-70 so prime runnin for both of these cars.. So we drove out to the spot n waited for the GTP's friend to come the GTP warms the tires n gets lined up.. us in the GTO just got even n got ready to roll.. No powerbrake or nuthin off the line we just took off... we had him slightly outta the hole but the GTP pulled like a raped ape n took over..by the end of the quarter mile his rear bumper was at the nose of the GTO so it was a good race..Remember the GTO is bone stock and an auto so with some minor modifications this would have not been a race.. So ya the GTO is gettin a K&N this week along with some other stuff n we will run after that.. i will post how that goes.. Thanx peace 1

sorry man, this sounds wierd are u talkin about the like grand am gtp if so an 05 gto 400 hp should have had no problem taken it unless he was sprayin

Might have been a 12 sec. GTP, they're quite a few around here. Then yes it would have taken the GTO. Not very familiar with GTP's to know what it would take to get them into the 12's. I'm assuming a good amount of work though.

It is actually a Grand Prix GTP they dont make Grand Am GTP not that i know of atleast.. but yeah this guy is always doin somethin to his car... liek i said it is cammed.. not spraying **yet** so ya.. but i knwo he has alot more done to it.. im just not sure to what extent it is.. but i will get back to u on that when i find out

IMO, if your running faster than a 13.0, you'll take a GTO out (04 or 05). Im disapointed with those cars. Ive never seen them pull mid to high 12's like Cobras do and their "rated" at 400hp and their more expensive versus a slightly used 04/03 Cobra. I dont care if i get flamed or not, but thats the truth as far as i know it. I see brand new GTO's pulling 13.5's and the best ive seen is a 13.44.

yeah, dont underestimate a Grand Prix GTP. There are quite a few pretty fast ones over at Fullthrottlev6.com. Check out the timeslip page. It doesnt take too much to get them fast, a couple boltons and a pulley will get a GTP around a mid-13 second timeslip...so with a cam, he should be running at least really high 12's.

i used to own a stout GTP. Built tranny, baby cam, intercooler, headers, and alot of boost plus nitrous.....made 350whp on low boost and 93 off the bottle. It was a bad bitch for a long time.

I had a GTP in the 12's w/out heads or cam or rockers or juice.Just bolt ons only.Ic ported blower,Iccu pcm bundle,ls1 tb package, 3.0 pulley,42.5 lb. inj,tog's headers,spin tech mufflers,wizaire intake,and some 16" hoosier QTP's ect.I just saw it on American Muscle Car on speed channel last night,info shows them talking about the gto.About 10-15 min. into the show its the white gtp in the far lane racing a red firehawk.Its on again @ 6:00 am pt. this morning, going to try and tape it.
