upcoming race
So me and my buddy who posts on this forum (02_T/A_SOMetallica) are in debate about our cars. Of course we could settle this soon but he wants to get a new cluth before hand so I'm wondering if I should do anything else to secure a win. My car is in sig and his is 2002 SOM T/A M6. SLP H.O. HOOD, SLP LEV. 2 SUSPENSION KIT, SLP DYNOMOUTH EXHAUST, FIREHAWK RIMS+TIRES, MTI LID, MAS, SMOOTH BELLOW, SKIPSHIFT ELIMINATOR 315. We raced before my converter from a dig to about 65-70 and I won by a car or so but he had 4 people in his car and I only had 2. I will be on toyo proxes 4s to save the 10 bolt and I'll work on my launches, we'll probably go from both a dig and roll. What do you guys think?
So it is basically a '98 A4 with a converter, lid, and cat-back vs. a '02 M6 with a lid, LS6 intake (stock on '01+, right?) , and cat-back? You may need to get something else done to secure a win but I think it will be a hell of a race if both cars race as they are now. How is he with the stick?

From a stop you *should* win assuming you get full traction, you won't destroy him or anything unless he sucks as a driver, but you should edge him out. From a roll it's anyone's guess depending on what speed and, again, how good of a driver he is.
PS. Get yourself some DRs before the race. Don't worry about your 10 bolt so much. You have an auto, we don't break rears nearly as easy as the M6 guys do. My 10 bolt had no problem with 1.6 60 foots on BFG drag radials. Just make sure you're not getting any major wheel hop, because that will greatly increase your chance of a broken rear. When my '00 WS6 was at your mod level I was running 12.6x @106+ with a 1.6-1.7 short time.

Thanks for the info. Well depending on how soon he gets his clutch I may have several more mods if its next season. I have HPT on the way now and if my rear end breaking isn't slated to happen with a set or DRs then here I come Nittos. 12.6 sounds really good to me but I won't be able to hit the track until next season, but I was hoping for 12s on a good tire. As far as his driving skills, well I highly doubt he'll be powershifting and hes gotta be a decent driver since he has driven stick ever since he got his license. Man I just want to run him and get it over with.
