Question Stage 2 SRT-4

I have a bone stock 2002 M6 Z28. My buddy has a Stage 2 SRT-4. He thinks he can beat me. Is he right? Or can i take him? I really like to believe i can but he's putting about 270hp to the wheels. The car is fast as hell i've ridden in it. Just let me know your opinions.

you would have to race for a dig. hope you can launch and he cant, from a roll that turbo is deadly

I just read an article in Motor Trend about a Stage I SRT-4, which runs 13.3@105.6. The stage II has 25 more HP at the flywheel than that, so I'd say he's gonna beat you by a fair amount.

Full stage 2 srt4s are 13.0 cars with traction. Dude I raced ran a 12.8 @111. I think the only reason I stayed beside him was because he peeled through third. From a dig if he can drive it should be close. From a roll...gotta give it to him.

i havent heard of stage I running low 13s. do a search it just doesnt happen. probly a stage II or III. i could be mistaken but im quite positive a stock SRT does not run a 1/4 in the same time a stock LS1 does. they make 230 hp in a vehicle weighing 2950 lbs.

We plan on racing in the coming week. He's having tranny problems and he doesn't want to race on a bad one. I dunno, just by the feel i got of being in that car i think it's going to be a close race. Probably gonna do a couple runs from a dig and a couple from a roll. I have bad feelings about that turbo from a roll though.

I was thinking the same. I thought stage 2 was low-mid 13's on street tires.

driver's race...he'll be pretty traction limited through 1st and 2nd..if you can take advantage of that...you'll beat him..froma roll...you'll probably loose if he start in the right gear in the sweet spot.

and magazine times for any car doesn't mean anything. road and track lists a 01 ss at 13.7 in the q/m and gmhtp ran one to a 12.91 in 90 degree weather....they all use different tracks, different track prep and temperatures. only time a magazine time means anything is if they are testing the cars the same day...same track.

Since he has 270fwhp (what you said) you will maybe get beat by probably 1-2 cars. You might start creepig up by 80-90mph. Just my thought.

I think it's going to be a good race. I previously beat a Stage 1 SRT-4 from a dig without any problems. But, I really can't predict the out come of this one. I can't wait to race him.

I think it will be a drivers race. My buddy even beat a modded WRX, said it jumped on him until about 40-then he took off no problem. He has an 01 SS conv. M6. That thing almost
hits 60 in first gear!!! I didnt believe it. The srt (neon!) will be spinning and shifting while
you are winning!!!!!

Ok, hope to help a little. My sister has an 05 SRT4. I ran it at the track and drove it to a 14.1@101MPH. 2.2 shorttime. Bone stock. A friend of mine has a Stage 3 SRT4 with a set of slicks and decent traction 1.8 60ft, he ran 12.1@116MPH(race fuel). Those I can help ya with, don't know of anyone that has done the Stage 2. They all go from 1 to 3
