Ran against 05' GTO on highway a few days ago i was cruising about 80mph on RT 55 in so. jersey. when all of the sudden i see this car come up on my bumper. i looked again, and saw it was a 05' GTO. traffic was light so we went from a 70mph roll. did the 3 beeps and go. i pulled away from him, but not all that fast. from the time we punched it till hit 150 i put 3-4 cars on him. That baby was alot faster than what i thought. then we played cat and mouse for a lil bit. after that we Gave each other a thumbs up, and went our seperate ways. i wish i brought my video camera with me that day.

my friend that goes to ETSU has a 05 Black GTO fully loaded, black on black. That thing is very fast. I rode around with him a week after he got it. They hit 0-60 in like 4.5 sec.

thats about where my t/a is 0-60 4.5-4.7 1/4 mile consistent high 12s now. thats just barely enough to hold off a goat, if they have a good driver that is

You must have a freak, what do you dyno!? Not saying it's not possible maybe the GTO had more people in it, or was auto, or something but that seems hard to believe. Sure it has some extra poundage but that hurts it more off the line, the M6 GTO has better gearing in 3rd and 5th(4th is almost exact same), plus it has better aerodynamics, not to mention more power.
The reason I have a hard time believing this is because my dad has an '05 M6 Goat and I've driven both cars and the Goat climbs a good deal faster from highway rolls than the WS6.
Is your T/A a stripper? I can't understand what you have done that could make your car so fast, judging by your times and mods you must have a factory freak and know how to drive like a maniac so I could see it happening but for the average LS1 vs. 05-06GTO even a lightly modded LS1 shouldn't hang.

Speaking from experience, I had a 2002 Firehawk, and now I've got a 2005 GTO. The GTO isn't a slouch. More than a match for most Camaros and Trans-AM's. Except the modded ones of course.

the only time an auto ls1 has beat me was from a stop but from a roll i stay even with the m6 guys with lid and exhaust and start pulling away slowly at speeds over 100. but the heatsoak in this car kills the performance so if that person had been driving their car all day and it was an auto then i can see u pulling 3-4 cars on him. either way good job on the kill
