my first vehicle was a dakota r/t extended cab. it was quick.....for a truck. but after taking beatings from stock imports i upgraded to a harris motorsports mark II gtr mustang....that lasted less than two years and now i'm in an 04 goat...the r/t has 0-60 times at around 7 seconds..fun to drive but lacks the power.

The R/T is a mid 15sec truck. (15.5 @ 88.72 mph) I say with the mods he has and a decent 60', the R/T could come out with a high 14, low 15. Your going to kill it, but that's not too bad of a time for a truck. The lightning is what you need to watch out for...

The Hp numbers arent that high but they have lots of after driving an R/T the WOT pull isnt as strong Id say the performance in that truck is about the equivalent of an LT1 impala or caprice if not less

They only stock trucks you have to look out for are ram srt-10s and lightnings. Pretty much any other truck that's still stock, or near stock like this one, is going to be no challenge. Now you know how I feel, lol.

WIth those mods.....that guy really needs a reality check. Send him to performancetruck.net and let some of us chevy truck boys show him what a fast truck really is.

A couple years ago, I use to run into a 5.9 RT on my way to work every morning. It always seemed to turn into a sprint between the two of us to see who would get to the freeway on ramp first. He was decently quick, but I'd easily kick his butt to the ramp and through it. The first time he tried chasing me all the way on to the freeway, he ended up in the dirt 'cause he couldn't corner tight enough. He must have hated that. Oh... BTW, I was driving a modified '97 Grand Prix GTP at the time. An LT1, and particularly and LS1, wouldn't have a difficult time with one of those trucks at all. Unless you're sleeping while he's trying to race.

I own a 98Z28 and a 98 Dakota RT. RT has headers, intake, high flow cats and no muffler. Loud, sounds good, but gets smoked by the stock Z. Not even in the same class. Dont get me wrong though, its a fun truck and gets some looks.

My buddy has an R/T and a 02 Lightning. The R/T runs 14.7 and his Lightning has run a 13.1 (first motor). He is on his 3rd motor for the Lightning. The R/T's are slugs. There is one guy over at SVTP.com that has an 11 sec R/T but I'm sure those times are from a power adder and bolt ons.
