well last night i pulled into the local car hangout and as soon as a get there, im approached by the owner of a new yellow GTO w/ an M6, pretty nice car. didnt even greet me or anything...just said "hey you wanna race for $?" im think my gosh i cant go anywhere w/o someone wanting to race me, cant i ever go out once and just enjoy cars w/o having to race everytime? so i say "nah im not cuttin her loose tonight."

so he asks to see what ive got so i show him under the hood


after seeing this hes like "oh man i bet that thing wil FLY! what kinda times you run?"

me: "nah nto really, its just got bolt ons and ive dresed it up a little to look nice. i run high 8's int he 1/8th"

so he tells me that he's got 485 horse under his hood and he runs 7s'.

i ask "what kinda power adder you have?", he says its all motor.

so i look under his hood.....bone stock down to the air intake....even stock manifolds on the car. i know hes full of it now and probably some rich ***** that knows nothing about his car.

i ask him "why you got a 'built' motor but no headers or intake? that things gotta breathe since its got so much power right?"

he says nah we left those on there so people will THINk its stock. so i ask him who built the motor.....he points to his friend standing beside me. so i ask the "builder" what kinda cam he put in it.

he says "oh it still got the stock cam, we didnt change that."
so i go to explain that in order to make more power, you have to get as much air into and outta of the engine as possible. the only way you can do that N/A is with a bigger cam and possibly ported heads because that controls how much air comes in and goes out. he replies "nah we rebuilt everything else tho and its about 485 horse"

what are people thinking these days? is our generation (teenagers) becomming THAT dumb. im kinda embarassed to say, but i tihnk the majority is. i could understand if this kid drove a civic, but it was a gto and usually those owners are down to earth and know somewhat about their cars.

i tihnk i may race him anways just to shut hi up and maybe make a quick buck.....he prob cant drive and even w/ my minor bolt ons i could proabaly take him, hes BONE stock. what do yall think about my car (mods in sig) vs. this *****?

The ricer mentality comes in many shapes and forms. Yeah the ricer mind has infiltrated all types of car drivers. I am still not sure if most of them just make this **** up or really believe the **** that spews out of their mouth. A sure way to spot this "ricer" type is when they just come up out of nowwhere and ask if you want to race, without even a "hi" or "whats under the hood".

exactly what he did. pretty stupid picking a fight w/ somethin that can wax that azzz....which im sure i could do that to this *** even tho my cars not that fast. guys like cant drive their cars if they dont know **** about them.

Ignorance is spreading like wildfire. I wouldn't really call it "ricer mentality", I call it "stickercharged mentality". People are for the most part idiots, no matter what car they drive. They get into something that's store-bought-cool and all of a sudden, they think they're a superhero!

Cars being ballsy, having better suspension, a ton of things aiding the driver and advertising have all aided this. Look at EVO, Charger/300C, Mustang and yes even GTO owners. They're all making everyone think they're running Ferrari's and Vipers.

haha i called him on it, but he stuck to his word of 485 hp. and i tihnk i was the only one around that actually knew he was BS'n cause the other people were ricers too.

Man some people should drive geo trackers and isuzu pups all their lives this guy shouldnt even be in the same parkinglot as you thinking his car puts that out stock. I have a stock ws-6 and people think that i run 10's around my town haha. Gettin our world back one dumbass at a time.

i would be careful . . ive had sum guy in a mustang come up to me asking if i wanted to race. . sounded like a ricer. . even asked me what an ls1 was. .i looked at his engine and he said it was all build up but it looked stock . . found out later he was pushing over 500 hp. . he might just be playing with u man . .
