i'm sorry i just find it amazing that someone who has had enough time to modify their car thusly, would have so little clue about what his competition has in store. M6, LS2 GTO's generally run anywhere from 12.8's to 13.2's bone stock, if they are broken in.

looking at the mods in your sig you are maybe making 240rwhp vs 340rwhp for a stock ls2 gto ,race him and find out, your best bet would be from a dig, assuming you have lots of traction, but you would need a lot of vht and really sticky tires to make up for the power difference. it would be worst from a roll.

A stock '96 LT1 should have around 240rwhp, so he should have a little more, since he doesn't have that many power-adding mods, but yeah, his best bet would be from a dig with DRs. That's his ONLY chance. He weighs less and should launch better, but the Goat might still walk him down. Do it and let us know...

He definitely has more than 240rwhp. You people give no respect to the LT1 but look at his sig 13.7 @ 103 mph with 2.3 60' STOCK. With his modifications he could be running twelves, depending on whether or not his driving skills have improved over that 2.3 60' time. He has a good chance from a roll, too. It sounds like your LT1 is running good, man. You guys need to read that sig and understand that rwhp doesn't mean anything, timeslips do.

I can attest to track times with the GTO. My brother owns one. It had 3000 miles and ran a 13.9 at 103. Launching was his problem. From a roll its a different story. I say from a low roll speed you will have a better chance. Keep us posted.

man there is some bs in this thread,
ls2 GTOs run low-mid 13s stock, not 13.9 (unless you are handicapped) or 12.8
id guess the lt1 has more than 240whp and the supsension stuff he has will help out majorly on a dig race.
edit: you still gonna lose though

I raced one the other week, it was red 05' m6, with cai, stainless steel works headers, x-pipe with no converters and stainless works dual exhaust and computer work. We went from a 35 mph kick to 120 and he was at my drivers door the whole way, there pretty quick, but i did spin some. my mods are in my sig
