Default 04 Cobra vs 01 Z28 vs 01 SS

Guy I know bought a red 04 Cobra. Word around work was it was 460 at the wheels. So a couple friends and I run into him this weekend. I asked him to run my buddy's 01 SS since its H/C 6spd car with a small shot of N2O, and I would be the 3rd. Saw the Cobra guy letting air out of his tires. Im the only one of the 3 with no drag radials. I already knew what the outcome of the SS vs me would be since I do the work on the car. I figured at least he could give the Cobra a spanking and I woould maybe be able to the taillights of the 2 from my view several hunded feet back. So we all decided to go from a 20 roll. I have a 200lb passenger since he got scared to ride in the SS...lol. We hit it on 3 honks and the SS is just gone. I spin a little bit in 1st then hit 2nd and go sideways. To my utter surprise, the Cobra is about 1-1 1/2 cars in front of me. I started going through the gears and got even with his front bumper and misshifted 5th, then dropped back to the back of his front fender. Then we let out. Although not a kill, I was not disappointed. My car most expensive upgrade is a set of Z06 wheels. Im rolling with stock H/C and exhaust. I think if I would like to get a rematch with no passenger adn some good tires. Yes, the Cobra was all stock except for the Nittos. At least we all had fun.
Obviouly the Cobra wasnt 460hp....

That is pretty surprising.
Mods can make all the difference on them.
I raced a stock 04 Mystichrome Cobra and RAPED him, then about a week later a (pretty obviously) modified White 04 Cobra was bopping aloing in front of me and saw me coming up on him in the same lane, so he hit it and after 5th gear I couldn't keep up anymore.

The first and only car that I've ever "lost" to, even though it wasn't really a race.

I have yet to have the pleasure to run a cobra or a built Supra.......I cannot wait until I am home and hope to find a few to run....
I did have a run in with an SRT 10 Ram, and a cat back Supra. I ran the truck to about 130mph, but I never came out of 5th, Meaning I started in fifth and ended about 1/4 carlength aheqad of him. The Supra we met in traffic, got a clearing and rolled from like 20mph(made sure I was in 1st for this one)....He got next to me, he hit it, and I hit it just as I heard his turbo start to spool....I pretty much put 4 cars on him from 1st through 2nd.....shut down after that....He was kewl, we talked and said something along the lines of "I should hae bought onw of those instead of this"

Sorry to jack the thread....Love to hear peoples runs and share my few that I have....

He must have been an idiot, should have bought a T/A over a 96-98 Supra? Wow.

Ya 98 was the last year they were made for the US. I am surprised too he said he should have bought an F-body over a supra. They are just so easy to make fast. He must not realize this yet.

Yeah, I am surprised too because a 96 to 98 Supra is likely a $30K car or more to this day. You see a ton of 93-95's but not many 96-98's. They didn't make but so many.

Yeah I have been lucky so far.....My only loses are to my buddy, he has an 02 WS6....but as we are right now, I have only 3rwhp less than him....But I am tuned...so when I get my intake, Cam and so on, on then it's game time....

I have yet been able to get her down the quarter yet. I cannot wait until i do....gonna be fun to see what I get on my first run....Maybe this summer....who knows.

About the kid in the Supra, he just doesn't realize what he's got....But one day he will....
