Default 91 VR4 vs 02 WS6

Both the cars are mine. Mods. for both in sig. So I got my dad to drive my VR4 and I drove the WS6. I have a video but cant post it until I get the cd I need to download the camcorder software to the computer. Anyway,we went from 40mph to 130mph. Then 70mph to 140mph. To try and accomodate the top end on the VR4. With 20psi the VR4 can hold it own but the WS6 was just too strong. I ran it n/a because with the TNT it would have been ugly! The WS6 pulled about 6 cars! Then in the 2nd race the WS6 pulled about 3 cars. My dad actually had my grandma in the car, youll see in the video! Its pretty funny. She said it was fun! Cool grandma huh?!

Whom said they were stock turbos? I seriously dont know if theyre stock or not. I bought the car already tuned to 20psi. They guy i bought the car from claims theyre the stock turbos. I really dont know for sure. Ive only had the car 2 weeks. It has aftermarket boost gauge and reads 20psi in high rpm situations. I believe it but my WS6 is just too strong for it.

ill bet your on 9 lbs of boost instead of 20 which would make your results about right. or at least lets see a pic of the engine bay.

go look at the number on the turbo's.

right-side number: 49177-02310 or 49177-02300
- left-side number: 49177-02410 or 49177-02400

lol who the hell calls bs on 20 pounds, i could turn a boost controller up to 30 if i wanted on my talon. Doesnt mean it wont blow up or run right, i was running 20 pounds on my talon for awhile almost stock. Which later with a dyno tuned showed i was better at 17.

I know if the car was accepting the 20 lbs right he would be walking the ws6 from a dig and most likely from a roll. The 3000gt must not be running right. My M6 would pull a 3000gt vr4 when it was stock but I don't think it would have done it by 6 cars.

Theres no doubt it running 20psi. Ive ran other stock vr4 and walking them bad! My ws6 isnt stock,it should still walk the vr4 and it did. And 94LS1Z,as far as your car,did you ever think my ws6 is faster than your car?

It might be faster at say 15 than 20 if they are stock turbos. The stockers are pretty tiny. If they are like 15Gs, then I think 20 would be pretty darn nice as long as there is fuel for it. AFAIK, 15Gs come in the stock compressor housing. Just like 14B stock DSM turbos and 16G upgrades look more or less identical.

But thats all kinda moot info with the shot on the WS6 LOL.

ever heard the term "fuel cut"...

it's when your car can't pump enough fuel check it out.

and do you know why you ran better on 17 than 20? you just backed up my info.

Stock vr4's run out of fuel at around 15 lbs on stock turbo's.

they can peak for a second at 20 and fall flat... not to mention youll heatsoak very quickly on that boost with stock intercoolers.

you can weld your damn wastegates and the stock turbo's will still only do 12-13ish at redline. The stockers suck

VR4 stock turbos are pretty small. They are 9Bs. The 13G (which is quite tiny also) comes stock on auto 1G DSM's are decent upgrades for those 9B twins. LOL. That should give you an idea of how quick a VR4 with twin 15G's or 16G's (@ 20psi) can be. Nice kill.

when I had stock 9b's on my car boost from the factory was about 10psi and the car ran 14.00's at 100mph. I upped the boost and it would spike to 19psi but still fall to 12psi to redline and that air was hotter than the seventh layer of hell due ot the tiny turbos spinning 165,000 rpm's and joke oem sidemount intercoolers. After doing the exhaust and K&N it pulled many 12.60's but mostly high 12's ~ 110mph.

13g's will touch 20psi but fall to ~ 17psi and 15g's will peak ~ 25 and old ~20psi

above 16psi you need to be running race gas, larger injectors, fuel pump and a piggy back ecu. If you aren't your IDC's are going to be through the roof and probably static making for a lean condition. Get a logger for that car so you can watch how much you're knocking right now. I bet it's awful.

What is a DSM? It's not listed in the list of acronyms.
