Killed an LS2 GTO :)
Beautiful day... sunny and 55... met my mom and her boyfriend for lunch in Birmingham, right off Woodward. They hadn't been for a ride in my car since I've "broken it in".
I'm at a stoplight, and they want me to show them what it's got. Just so happens, an LS2 GTO is right next to us. I wasn't really looking for a race, I just wanted to give my passengers a nice ride. I laid on it off the line, and all of a sudden hear tires squeal behind me, coming from the GTO . So, I continued to lay in to it - all the way to redline, grab second, and stay in it. By now, I've stopped pulling away from him, but he still isn't making up any ground. I hit 60, and let off... so does he. He pulls up next to me, tells me to roll my window down, and says, "hey, let's go again - this time when I'm ready to race." Sounds fair - I don't think either one of us were really looking for a race the first time, it just kinda happened. I nod and agree. I watch the cross-traffic light turn amber, rev to 3500, count 5 seconds, GREEN! GO! I hook up and take off with an early advantage, he spins a little, and starts going... but I had such an advantage off the launch he's quickly a couple car lengths behind and he lets off and gives up. No excuses this time, pal! You were beat!!!!! hahahahah...
I know my advantage comes from the AWD, and I really start losing my lead as soon as I grab 3rd... but from 0-60, this baby is strong. No question in a full drag race, I'd be looking at tail lights, but from stoplight-to-stoplight... AWD rules, LS2 drools!!!!!!
muhahahahaha...
BTW... car is a '06 Subaru Legacy GT Limites - spec.B #312 out of 500

You didn't beat a 400HP GTO is your Subaru Legacy family car. Nice try though, you beat the driver (who probably wasn't racing), not the car.

Hahaha. I figured this would ruffle a few feathers.
So many people ready to throw the BS flag... "he wasn't racing"... hahahaha...
The Legacy GT is a high 13 second car, trapping just under 100 mph in most tests. The GTO is a low 13 second car, trapping in the 105-110 range in most tests.
You think it's that hard to believe that an AWD car could be ahead of the RWD car through the first two gears - when the RWD car typically only holds a .5 second advantage after 1320 feet?
It's very believable. In fact, it's so believable... because it's true.

...and in a full quarter mile race, he would wax me, no question. But a short stoplight to stoplight sprint is another story

No way I raced one of these the other day from a light only because the guy kept bugging me seemed like he was about 40 with some gay *** glasses same color car as this one and I beat him by like 4 bodies to the next light. Then he didn’t even stop to say anything he asked me if I wanted to race then he punked out at the end and didn’t even say good run just turned off on another street before the light. That was before the cam install about 3 weeks ago. I’m sneezing because I am allergic to bullshit.

First of all, the Subaru Legacy is a family car. So chances are the GTO didn't even want to bother wasting his gas on you. Second of all, the Legacy GT only has 250HP and it weighs over 3400lbs. That means the GTO has a 150HP advantage on it and it only weighs a couple hundred pounds more.
I don't care how "awesome your launch was", you didn't beat a muscle car with 150 more HP, thats just ridiculous. You say you had a couple car lengths advantage off the line, if the GTO driver was actually on it, he would have blown past you like you were stopped as soon as he hooked up. Don't kid yourself, the guy obviously wasn't racing

I have been beat by a V6 05 5-speed mustang when it caught me sleeping at the light and then I spun through first and half of 2nd and was about 1 car back by 45 mph and starting to make a comeback but let off due to speed limit and where I was. If he launched like hell with AWD its totally beliveable.

I feel like I said that already. Oh yeah, I did. Too bad all these bench racers have their panties in a bunch over nothing. hahahahaha...

Let's see. LS2 GTO... dual vents in the hood, "6.0 Litre" bade on the side, dual exhaust with a gray plastic fascia on the rear between the tail pipes with embossed letters that spell "G - T - O"...
How'm I doin'?
Go look up the performance numbers of a Legacy GT Limited. The suggestion that one could beat a GTO - yes, even the juggernaut LS2 GTO - in a short distance is far from outlandish.
