Ate a Catfish. Well, raced a camaro tonight. A 2000 Z28 A4 (claiming 3.42 gears). We ran from 75-105(top of my 4th). I pulled him by 1 car. We talked, he admitted that it was a fair run and that he had never been pulled before. Claimed to have an LS6 under the hood (BS) and let me look, i just saw a normal stock LS1. Oh well, thought I would let you guys know about it.

Funny how you can't find someone who won't try and bullshit you about their car.
I run into guy's every other day that have high compression big cam engine's that have stock exhaust manifold's and a smooth idle. Or someone who know's someone who know's a guy that has a full race whatever that would just kick my ***.
Did that dude at least say his b.s. ls-6 was stock?

Haha, its all good, im just stoked over accomplishing my goal. Kill an LS1 F-bod in a NA tue 302 displacement full weight fox. The car is being swapped EFI to carb currently, so that was my last kill with EFI. And a very worthy one too. I just SLOWLY oozed by him, seemed like our powerbands were the same, i just had more hp/# and steadily gained 1 car over 75-105.
Can someone explain to me how you can tell the difference between an LS1 & LS6? I didn't know you could look under the hood and tell.

I thought the valve covers would say "corvette" being as that is what he claimed it came out of...
Then again, i very well could be wrong. Also, I thought a 405hp LS6 would wipe the floor with me, that is the OTHER reason why not.

like "so what happened to the stock ls1? did you blow it up?"
or "why a ls6? you could've built up the ls1 for less $"

It proves my car had more hp and thats all I was really after, to know i have a better power/weight ratio than an LS1 F-bod (even if it was A4). It was about what I expected, wonder how the carb will effect things.
His son blew it up b/c he ran it low on oil at the drag strip
They wanted 8K for an LS1 and he got the LS6 cheaper, dont know the circumstances
He claims they put his stock composite intake on the crate engine
THese are the reasons I claim BS, the only one realistic is the oil starvation. I just nodded and smiled at him though.

PS. Just cant beat you guys, huh? We 5.0's win from a dig and you say "by 3rd gear he is all washed up, they just launch badass" and now I win from a 75 punch in 4th gear and I get "roll racing is gay" well....the LS1 ran it and lost it. Thats all I really payed attention to.
