Default Got beat by 2 LS1s

Heading out to eat I come up on a sweet looking black Z28. Its lowered with deep dish rims and a raised hood. As I approach him he puts on his turn signal. I rev at him and he then decides he wants to play and pulls up next to me at a redlight. I raise my rpms waiting for the light. I launch but he doesn't do the same? We catch another light and the same thing happens? Now when I'm in the bottom of second he jumps. I pull up beside him and we take off. As I'm waiting for my rpms to climb to my sweet spot, he's about a car ahead. It appears I've now stopped his pull but speeds are now around 60 and this wasn't a great road to race on so I shut down. He tells me he has bolt ons and an LS6 cam. With full suspension my car shines from a dig and its too bad he didn't want to run from a dig.

While we were playing we caught the attention of a pewter C5. His car was obviously quick and he seemed pretty cocky. I decided to turn on the nitrous to ruin his day. We catch a light and once I shift into second I hit the gas. The car jumps violently then starts to shake and then bog??? I pull into the turning lane and then it dies. Now I'm shitting in my pants thinking I just blew my motor. I turn my chip to the na tune and start it back up. The car runs perfect and have no idea what just happened. The car was just on the dyno and ran great on the spray putting up 550 and almost 700rwtq. I'll be heading back to the tuner very soon now.

Glad your motor is ok, man, my clutch leg would be jelly for half an hour after that one.
Its a shame the Z28 didnt want to run from a dig, according to LS1tech'ers that makes it gay and not a real race and even questionable in its authenticity according to MY last kill thread.

You running a wet kit by chance? It could have just been dumping fuel with no nitrous behind it...could be something to check. As for the catfoosh not wanting to go from a dig - well, he probably knew his car wasn't great from a dig I don't race from my weak spot either

What ya mean by SLP car? Technically, all SS's are SLP cars If you are asking whether or not it is real, it is. #2853 of the 2002 model year.

But you'll just have to trust me when I say that when it left SLP's shop, it was the last time they touched my car

Racing on Fairmont > racing on spencer. The extended portion of East looks promising for runs from a dig.

Very true. I actually ran a cobra there the other day. Looks like the new portion of Bay Area was anti street racing designed. Dang thing is a straight shot to Spencer but they designed it with nothing but a straight line.

I got to try it out last time I was home and enjoyed the twisting. Def not good for any straight line high speed fun though .
