there's a good weight reduction thread somewhere around here, try searching. There's some simple stuff you can do like taking out seats to the more hardcore stuff like pulling your carpet and replacing all your glass with Lexan. Just take out all your glass and buy a kit. You should be set, remember to wear goggles.

LT's and a tune. gear swap as well. That should help immensly. Even though its not that cheap. Or a stall by itself for now would help if yer A4

Get a pair of tires and put those 300rwhp to the pavement. Hell, you can even borrow a pair for free.

Maybe a bit more insight to what you already have or don't and what the GT is running. As a blown GT could quite easily be putting down 400-420rwhp and still weigh similar or less than your car. Which means if they can drive you're probably toast.

As for cheap weight saving - how far are you prepared to go? Talking bits of the car is cheap and only requires a bit of time and a few tools but it might make a mess of your car if you get too carried away.

bottle is the best choice. Probably cheaper than a gear install too unless your doing the gear install yourself. Just 100 shot will get you 400hp to the ground.

I wouldn't worry about it to much. I raced a Roush Stage 2 with an aftermarket Vortech on it when I had a lid and catback. I pulled 2-3 cars on him from a dig. Unless he is making crazy boost, those 2v really hold them back...now the 4v's, sheesh!

You shouldn't need to do anything but drive your car.

A mildly blown 4.6 with susp, tires, and a driver "might" be able to hang with a stock LS1, but your average stock 4.6 with a blower and young kid behind the wheel isn't anything to fear.

Hmmm that's weird. I didn't know that stock LS1's can go low 12's. -Mark

i say take out your rear seats and passanger seats and spare tire and jack and find some good tires if you dont already have some. That should lighten your car up and help with traction. Good luck though and let us know how you do.

Ha ha, yea and a stock 2v 4.6 with a Paxton is gonna run low 12's...cute.

And FWIW, I can guarantee you if I had had nothing else but a 12blt/9" and a little bit of susp. work my LS1 would have gone .20's easy. I think a jerryrigged CAI and unbolted stock exhaust would be considered "mostly stock".

Are you serious? You don't believe that a 99+ 2v w/ a blower can run low 12's? I'm sure there are some 2VPA here on the boards. It's not hard to do. They can trap between 113-116ish. How is that not capable of a low 12?
I won't tell you what I run, you'l probably have a heart attack. -Mark

Where did you learn physics????????????????????

Think abou it, with ~3500-3600lb and 300rwhp a LS1 will do low 13's mostly if driven correctly maybe a high 12 if you're lucky.

A heavier Terminator with 360+rwhp will run high 12's @ 110mph+

So why do you think a LIGHTER car ~3300lb with near 400rwhp won't be a match or indeed faster?

Even a half arsed blower setup on a 99+ sn95 should be making 385rwhp+ but most tend to see 400-420rwhp.

You =

If I'm not mistaken the guy said it was a '98 4.6 GT which means less HP than the '99+, please correct me if I'm wrong. Every pre-'99 2v 4.6 I've ever seen/driven = slow, lucky to get 14's stock. So tell me how adding a blower to 14-15 sec car equates to low 12's.

I know the '99+'s aren't "that" bad and have some relative capability, I've seen a few go high 13's fairly stock but all of the older 4.6's are dogs. I guess my statement was kind of broad so for that I appologize. I figured since the original poster mentioned a '98 that anyone reading would assume my 4.6 statement would be relating to pre-'99s.

And as for you 300BPH/TON, I'm not a bench racer so I can't respond to your statement. I wouldn't even know how to approach answering it since I'm not that familiar with it.

EDIT- I just realized the '98 is the TA. What year [is] the GT?
