Default cammed ls1 vs 4g63

well my first race with the new parts, cam, conveter, lts, manifold and with my gears and exhaust i got beat. kinda sucks since it was my first race and all but o well. the kid has a front wheel drive talon with 24lbs of boost. this kid knows his **** about those cars. we went from a 40 mph roll it was close for a while but then he started to pull on me. i shut down at about 90 or so. i didnt think i would be able to gain on him thats why i shut down. but o well im just waiting for the next race. this isnt a real exciting story but thats why im not an author..cya

Yeah, but I woudn't feel like much of a badass if I beat a heavily boosted fwd dsm with a cammed LS1 out of the hole... You call that "owning" him? Hell, a Kia might beat that spinning dsm out of the hole.

Good death, time for some more mods. Dsm's running over 20 psi on the 4g63 powerplant aren't nothing to smirk at.

There are quite a number of DSM's ready for you to kill out there... Just not that one... Yet.

Yea don't feel to bad, on 24psi he must have a decent setup to run properly. But he's right, I've noticed a lot of punk asses that just got their stock dsm, thinking their bad because they take out I/H/E hondas, which makes it that much harder for me to get decent races.

what kind of 1/4 mile times you think he is running with 24lbs...he said he was running 24ish so im guessing its a little more than that.

You need to know the turbo. 14B, 16G, 20G, T-66, T-88, GT42R, T-106. I mean seriously, you can't predict a time on a car if you don't know what is on it. I assume if you are cammed and he is beating you with a FWD DSM at 24 psi, it is either a Big Evo 16G or a 20G in size.

if hes fwd its gotta be the 20g or higher. If you just had a few bolt ons then its possible it would be an evo 16g unless hes got a perfect tune and such.

I have a EVO3 with a stock side mount, I have HKS cams 272s at 18psi me and my freinds I,H,E Transam were dead even from 60-140 and we went a few more times from lower MPH pulls and a few high ones. Im on a very very good tune also, and im getting a front mount soon.

My freinds Evo has FULL boltons and stock cams, were dead even from 2-3 but once I get into 4th I start pulling a few cars on him.

We stuck dead even each time, we couldnt pull on each other.

24psi and you are a cammed LS1 he has somthing much bigger than a EV03 16G to be able to run away from you.

Small turbos are stock 14B,small16g,big 16G, EVO3 16G(best one) and then 20G

After that its 50trims( with custom wheels) 60trims,67trims, GT35/37R, GT40Rs, and GT42Rs etc

Properly set up FWD DSMs have serious top end because of their long gearing and obviously, light weight. Race him from a dig and kick his ***. They are terrible from a stop on street rubber. That's one thing about a 300FWHP and a 500fwhp DSM on street tires. They run mid-high 12's.
