8.4 in the 1/8th is a bottom 13 in the quarter, don't see how you guys are saying the GTO is faster? If he hit an 8.4 on a bad sixty he could easily see 12s with some real launching.

oh there was mention of unstalled A4 LT1s hitting 12s?
LCAs, tires, LTs, catback, tune, cai = 12.9@105 1.92 60 foot IMO it coulda gone quicker with a better 60.
Are mods are pretty much the same. I wonder what kind of time I could have run with the same 60'. What was your 1/8 mile time and trap speed on the 12.9 run?

Thanks for coming in on the conversation. You are the proof that unstalled bolt on LT1's can get into the 12's.

should be more specific, not on street tires. You have lca and tires, makes a big difference I think. I did say rare.

Did you repeat the runs or just a one time run?

I'm surprised no one has said anything about the video yet.

Looked like a good race. My wife's GTO is manual too and ran a 13.1 @ 108 in decent weather. On hot runs the car will slow considerably with high IAT pulling timing. On hot lapping I saw 13.4 @ 105 with identical runs bone stock.
Your car must run well. Especially when you hit 3rd, his M12 tranny should walk on you pretty good given his gear ratios.
Nice run!

If you pay close attention, at the end of the race he stops pulling. I start coming back, but I let off. I really don't like going that fast, but it was just such a good race.

We raced a bunch of times. That was actually the only race I didn't end up ahead, except for the tie that we had...

I'd smoke the doors off that Ls2.

Did you have street tires on when you ran the 13.1. With a 108Mph trap speed, I would think the car has 12's in it with a good 60'.

the lsx goats seem to be hit and miss as far as trap speeds are concerned. i've raced 05s that trapped 104, then raced an 04 that trapped 107...both stock. i guess the iat makes a big difference, as previously stated.

i think that goat could best your 60' at the track with a hook, and probably stay ahead the rest of the way down. of course, getting those things to hook is a challenge without decent susp. work and good tires..

I disagree and know for a fact that wouldn't happen. In every race, I always pulled on top of 1st, all through 2nd and he would start coming back in third. (slowly) Although, at the end of third gear it evens out again.

We had a dig race and I jumped out in front and by 100 I was ahead by a car and a half. He may have started catching, but it would have taken a while...

I'm not really sure what your talking about. There was 3 honks and both of us went after the third. It was an even hit...

Yep, it was with stock tires and they did not hook well. It has 12's in it but I just wanted to see what it would do bone stock. It was very consistent high 107 low 108 trapspeed with cooldowns. On the last run which was a hotlap went straight back through with no line and ran a hair under 105 with identical launch and gearbanging.
If I remember correctly, the 60ft times were like 2.1
It's my wife's daily driver and that was its only trip to the track. When it cools off this fall I'll probobly take it back though.

Default correction

Woops, I'll have to correct my statement above. There were no 60ft times given that night because it was some "super 60's" event where they didn't use the yellow lights on the tree and there were no 60ft times or other info on the slips. Just 1/4 mile and trapspeed. It was lame I didn't like it.
Also looking at the slip I misspoke, my last heatsoaked run was 13.35 @ 105.7 mph. Still a signifigant loss from 108 on the hotlap.

i just watched the video. that was a good run.

just for the sake of comparison, i doubt these mods -LT headers, Matching Y-pipe, CAI, LT4 KM, and a tune- would give you a 108 trap, which is commonly associated with the 05 6 spd gtos. i'm not trying to hate on lt1s...hell i even owned one...but i think something was up. i raced a stock one many times (05 6 spd) when I was stock. i only trapped 101 stock, but i beat him like 5 times from 40-100, then he found the gas pedal and put bus lengths on me the last race.
