2000 SS VS 97' Vette

2000 SS VS 97' Vette I was leaving work friday at 5pm with my wife and I decide to go through the park on the way home because its a nice day out. I pull up to a stop sign and a vette rolls up behind me and starts revving at me. since the wife was with me i thought nothing of it and went ahead and made my turn left to go home. As I turn he guns it behind me getting sideways and so on and slows back down behind me. Then god spoke to me. she said "James are you going to let that jackass taunt you like that?" I was in awe. Since I had the go ahead to throw down with him now I slowed up from 30 to about 10mph and waved him next to me. I said lets take it out to the highway (only about 2 miles away). He said your not worth my time unless you have 20$. My wife of all people yells back at him I have 20$.
We get out to the truck stop just at the highway and discuss how we want to do this. Now I am thinking at this time no way can a Stock 00' SS other than a cat back beat a 97' vette. But I have spent 20$ on dumber ****. He says from 50 - 120mph. I agree, I tell him on the third honk and he can honk. Now this is the weird part. He doesnt want to honk, he tells me he is so confident that when I gun it he will go.
We get on the highway and I am runnign 50 even he is right next to me. He gives me thumbs up and I do him to let him know I am also ready. My wife is freaking out now saying "I can not believe we are really going to do this!" I Smash the gas in 2nd gear at 50mph. Instantly pull 1 car on him. He floors it pulls on me by a 1/4 car or so. I grab third and gain about about 1/2 car on him. Well I hit 120mph with 1 1/2 cars on him. I let off and he never does keeps right on going lmao! Well I never got my 20$ from him after he talked smack to me. But I have seen him around here so I will collect sooner or later!

LMao, if a 97 vette is only 1-1/2 car behind a 00' SS only using 4th gear you guys all need to sell your **** and mod one of THOSE! I think your car was straight up faster. Good kill. (if you meant he was A4 and just mashed it from OD, i bet he had worser gearing perhapse 2.73's). Anywho, good kill on the bitch!
