Yep. Wealthy, conservative town. LOTS of fast cars. There are street races every Sat. night that my friend with a Trans Am frequents. Unfortunately I don't fit in well with that crowd. I'm only 24 but I'm viewed as a nerdy out-of-touch geezer, which is actually pretty true now that I think about it, except for the geezer part.
Where is west pembroke pines???

With a catted x, Cai, 4.10's, and a generic predator tune I ran a 12.6 @ 108 on dr's with a 1.77 60'. Almost full weight. The race sounds about right. Drivers race with a slight advantage to the LS1 IMHO stock for stock.

A 12.6x 1/4 mile time MIGHT be possible with a great driver in a Mach with exhaust and stock 3.55 gearing and D/R's. Sounds a little far-fetched to me though...

My friends Mach has basically the same mods as me and he runs 12.5's @ 109. I honestly think it has alot to do with 1. Driver skill (These 5 speed Machs are a handful to launch correctly) 2. Camshaft Timing.
In a MM&FF I read that Cam timing often varies on 32 valve 4.6's and is not an easy task to do correctly. This is why they say that there are such variances in so many of the Machs and Cobra's from the factory.

When I first bought my Camaro and it was bone stock, I raced a Mach 1 with 4.10's, H pipe and catback, and CAI kit. Both of us on street tires. He would almost hang through 1st gear then I'd pull and pull some more. Yes, he could drive too. When it comes to these great Mach track times,.....that 3650 trans has a way deeper 1st gear than our cars. That combined with a much better (stronger and with 3.55's) 8.8 rear that you're not afraid to launch at high rpms make for good launches. Just my .02. I 'll take an LS1 over a Mach any day.

Correct. I like the strong T56, hate the weak 10 bolt. Mustangs are the opposite. My friend has an '01 GT with just over 100K and he's on his third tranny.
(and second plastic intake.
) I like your car though Dan, you Grey03mach1 and Mach1Marauder are true badasses in the Mach 1 community!

Some people call BS on my car being as fast as it is with the minimal mods I have. The fact of the matter is that some cars are setup right and has a driver that can get every last .1 outta it. Congrats to the Mach owners that have gotten their cars into this "freak" catagory.
Oh, to the original poster, awesome race!

probably one of the fastest mach 1's for those mods.
a good buddy of mine has a mach 1 (manual) and with filter/catback he went like 14.1....he said "its not running right". i dont know how but that just goes to show the full spectrum of the cars. not a bad driver either he had a m6 ws6 lid/full exhaust/tune that went 12.6s-12.7s
