Stock '01 WS6 vs Stock 04' Mach1
Well one of my buddies picked up his 01' WS6 couple days ago and we decided to call up some guy we knew with a Mach1 to race. BTW both of these cars only have K&N filters. We meet up and I was gonna drive the WS6 because my friend didnt feel too comfortable with it. I dropped some psi on the tires because they seemed to be a little high on air. We line up after doing our small burnouts. The flagger drops his hands and the Mach1 launchs and my front bumper is at his fender. As I hit 2nd it is still the same until middle of 2nd where I start creeping forward, when i hit 3rd I am half a car on him and pulling until we end with me about a 1.5 cars in front. We go again one more time with pretty much the same results. Also the WS6 has 35,000 miles where the Mach1 only has 16,000 miles on it.

Yup, not surprised here. I ran a stock mach 1 and had very close to the same results. Mine were just a little bit closer (he even took me on one because I had my head up my ***), but my clutch has gone to crap and that's when it all started happening (not that I'm trying to make excuses), but I anticipate that once I get my new clutch in next week that I'll pull him just a little bit harder.
Good runs and nice kills, I hope your friend enjoys his new ride. Something tells me that will not be a problem. I bet he was pretty stocked when you beat the Mach.

I raced one a while back with only an exhaust and me all stock. I got him by about 1/4-1/2 a car. 0-60 we were dead even but after 60 i was starting to pull on him but we let off around 90 because we were coming to some traffic.Their no joke, good kill

Stock for stock sounds about right, these cars are so close in stock trim it is all in the driver. Good kill man. My girlfriend has an 01 SS with just a Ctabck and it runs very strong, it suprises everybody sometiimes I wish my car was stock to see what would happen.

Nice rowing. Thats a classic Mach race.
What I just dont get is why we have not seen an NA 5.4 Mach. It would have been a great competitor.
Maybe for the 08 That would be sweet.

There's no way those cars have my power level (a4 c5).
I know I'm lighter, but I can pretty much @$$ rape a Mach 1 on the highway(my best friend's roomate has one).
I guess anything is possible though. Post a dyno graph and I'll be a believer. Or better yet, does anyone know the factory specs??? I've been wrong plenty of times before, not much of a Mustang expert. Just what I know from encounters.
