STD correction, no graph smoothing and on a Dynojet. I've never seen a 'real' dyno of a stock Ls1 making 330rwhp. And I'm willing to bet there's no s197 making 280rwhp in stock trim either.

With all that said, I won't argue that an LS1 does not have the stock edge, but neither will I argue that it's impossible a well tuned S197 may have taken down an LS1 on the street. Not talking , just trying to keep things real.

Nice, yea again wasnt saying it cant happen, just the dyno days ive seen aorund here most of the new Gt's stock put down anywhere from 250-260 rwhp or so, thats a damn strong gt though in that vid!

my guess is, that the zoom button didnt work on their camera..

Mustangs are pretty low on the list of cars to talk **** about in the 1/8 mile.
Whatever, we are seeing the worst of both sides in this thread.

I'm kinda confused about the LS1 vs the new mustang thing that is being talked about because the LS1 C5's are supposed to be faster than the LS1 F-Body cars.... with that said a good C5 driver should be able to get into the 12's for the mear fact compared to my F-body a C5 has alot better suspension and weighs less and should put down more power from better intake and exhaust setups. I don't want to bench race but my stock LS1 F-body is right at par with bolt on 05-up mustangs but a bolt-on C5 should smoke the new mustangs. I guess the real world is different.
I have a real good friend that just bought a 2000 C5 A4 and he dyno'd his car on the dynodynamics that mine put 279 down on and his put down 310. So the Corvettes do have more HP stock out of the box.... and I don't see a lighter weight car with more HP to get beat by a heavier mustang with a good 20-40 whp less. Just my thoughts.
Then again in all honesty HP matters but only to a certain extent.... my 181 fwhp Integra runs consistant 13.3's so dyno numbers arent everything.

I don't think one or two dyno's is 'proof'. They are tools to test and adjust things, and to give you an 'idea' for power. They will vary all over for different reasons. I agree that with a few bolt ons and a tune the S197s can have some nice power. One thing I noticed in that dyno info you posted (04terminator), is not only was there a tune, but there was 93 Octane used. I am sure we can all bet that the tune was set for the higher octane instead of the stock 87 rated. That will help a little. The fact that Big three is saying that it is not uncommon for S197s to put down 300 or 300+ with minimum changes is what makes me laugh. Not to mention he thinks a S197 is 'up to par' with an LS. SOLEY on his 2 different races..that is PURELY ignorance.
BTW - i test drove an S197 today. I ahve been thinking abotu getting a new '07 GT/CS as my new DD. I would just hate having a car slower than my wife...HA HA!
