That was the qualifier for this statement. The 87-88 had no MAF, but they WERE forged piston equipped. The 93 was the year they went with the hyper-u-crackem's.UNLESS you factor in california cars, which got a MAF in 88 instead of 89...in which case that statement is totally bunk as the 88 Cali car is the same in the respects listed as an 89 car anywhere else...

Alright, thanks for clarifying that. I just saw the '89-92 on that site, so I figured they came with forged pistons only during that time. Learn something new everyday. lol

Yep, I converted my 88 over to MAF from SD. Fixed my surging idel and made the car run smoother.

I just converted mine to a 575 speed demon and it fixed the surging idle from the MAF conversion from SD, lmao.

well, if the car falls apart, you might as well make the motor "strong".
