That's simply not true...
The engine only needs to be lifted on one side with the motor mount unbolted for better access to some of the fasteners - I wouldn't exactly call that removing the engine.

If that's scary then you ought not to be fitting LT's in the first place.

My only commentary is to say I would own a camaro if they looked and drove like the late 60s models. I absolutely despise the look and driving position of the late model f-bodies. I feel like I am sitting in a bath tub cruising.
Other thing to add, the late model f-bodies are the biggest pain in the butt to work on. I have helped a friend change plugs on an LT1 and it was ridiculous.
For pure horsepower in stock form, LS2 vette/gto/03-04 cobra hands down (this is throwing price/looks/etc out the window). For cheap horsepower, 98 camaro with the LS1. For ultimate looks, good performance, good driving position, the mach 1 (yeah I am biased, sue me).
Ultimate American driving machine, LS7 based Corvette Z06. All the foreign crap and even the Ford GT/Dodge Viper can eat their hearts out. The LS7 is all other production engine's daddy in the world.

I currently own a 1999 SLP SS Camaro. Mods are HELLION, LT's, Underdrive pulley, Y-Pipe, no cats, FAST 90/90, upgraded springs and pushrods, SLP lip, SLP loudmouth. This car dyno'd at 409rwhp. There isnt a 4.6 mustang out here that has been able to touch it, even a cobra or a stock GT with an aftermarket S/C. Before this car, I had a 1998 Z-28 M6. Just a flowmaster, lid, and shifter. EVERY SINGLE 4.6 mustang was in the mirrors before the end of first gear. Even one with headers and 3.73's, lid and TB upgrade could not touch it. I even beat 5.0 car with an S/C on it. Bottom line: Mustangs suck. It will take alot for a 4.6 car to beat and LS1. It just doesnt matter. Rolling start, stand still, whatever. I have even allowed them 2 cars before I go. It doesnt make a difference. They are behind u by the time u the top of second even if they are given a 2 car lead. BY THE LS1!!!

Ignorance is bliss...ain't it.
What are you telling us about the 3 mustang races you had, and basing your 'opinion' on that?
Must be great to beat STOCK cobra's with 410 RWHP......

I may be beating a dead horse...
wow, sorry for the pun. But like I said, this might be another insight:
Back in 2002, my Friends mother went out hell-bent on buying a brand new Mustang GT.. She test drove it, and HATED how it drove, she said it didnt feel like a performance car... She then drove her daughters (my friend) 98 Z28... and went out the next weekend and bought an 02 Z28... She has had NO problems with the car in the 4 years she's owned it, and it is still her DD. She went to test-drive a NEW mustang GT (2006)... and still likes her Z better.
Keep in mind this is a woman, in her 40's... and still prefers the interior of the F-bod to the new mustang. She might be an exception, but its what she says!
-Hope this helps

If you've never been beaten by a 4.6 & you're LS1 only has 409 rwhp,
you must not get out much...

I got a buddy with a 2v and he only dyno'd at 401, you should see if you can keep up with that car.
