dumba$$ so im sitting there getting gas yesterday, when this kid in a firebird pulls up and asks if i want to race. i was like sure. he asked me what i had and i told him catback and lid. he was like ill smoke that ****. he wouldnt put money on it, but he had the ricer spill. (turbo, WS6 rearend, headers and a wicked cam.) he didnt even know the specs of it. im sittin there tryin not to laugh at him. he laughs even harder when i tell him i have an automatic. anyways, to make a long story short, we line up. he does his three honks and floors it. all his car does is make alot of noise. it wasnt even a race. not even close to being able to be called one. what makes it worse is the car looked like *** so i thought at least it would run. he didnt even pull over afterwards. why do people with V6s with only a catback or other minor mods do this? it baffles me.

did i read it right that you said he had a turbo?? If infact he was turbo, he shoulda been right there with you within a car length or 2 difference....
My car is a turbocharged 3.8 And i have only raced 1 F-body and it was a 98 Trans am....he pulled me about to 80 (from a 45 roll) then i walked by him and had about a car and a half by 120 on him.....i have it on video as well

as soon as i can get ahold of my buddy to get his camera (what the video is on) and get the converter to put it on my computer i would be more then happy to post it.
then again i dont understand whats so hard to believe....im making just as much RWHP and rwtq as a stock Ls1 if not a little more....not to mention My car weighs less....put together the math

I think what's hard to believe is that this kid in the firebird actually had a turbo. Probably was just talking out his ***. Maybe he had a turbo muffler, and thought it counted? Tornado in intake? And what would a WS6 rearend be, anyway? If he actually did a swap, then he should say it's a V8 rear. Last I knew there was no differance between a WS6 and base TA rear. Not including auto/stick ratios anyway.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I had a kid similar to this one night run up on real fast. I was cruising about 40mph when he pulls up beside me and hollers " U can't hang with a 9 second car. " Needless to say I dropped second on him and ya'll know the rest. I figure if he's running 9's
