UM...sorry...yes they can. he said beat on the street........99/01 snakes are mid 13s, and some low 13s..and they do NOT weigh more. They weigh ~50 pounds more than a Mach...cause of the IRS. That's it.

My friend used own a 99 cobra with intake, exhaust, gears, and a few other goodies, he never got out of the 13's and hes a damn good driver, he ran a 11.7 with the same car after he dropped an 03 motor (full exhaust, intake, 3.90 gears, tune, 3" pulley) in it. The 99-01 cobras arent much and even the mach makes better power than it.
An EVO modded would have no problem with beating it.

Where the hell do you guys get that the 99/01 cobra's are heavy?....please tell me this. The N/A new edges are ONLY ~50 pounds more than a mach...CAN YOU NOT READ?
As for OVER RATING..that was the 99 PRE FIX cobra's......post fixes and 01s are genuine 310-320 HP cars...from the factory. THEY DYNO ABOUT THE SAME AS A MACH!!!! MAYBE 10 less RWHP. Which will vary due to hand built motors and varied timing.
GAWD there is ALOT of mis informed people on here about stangs.

The 99 cobra's were actually dogs the 98 and 01 are very close to mach 1s. THe 99 was only putting out about 200 to the wheels cause of the problems they had. I have 5 friends with 98s and they all put down like 260 to to 27o stock and over 400 with superchargers. The 98 is one of the best blocks ford made but only puts out like 315 or so in hp but they love boost.

WOW.,....um, no they did not dyno (200).....240-250. The fix was reflash, exhaust, intake (and one more thing I forget though).
And I do agree, that not all 99s had teh fix....we will never know exactly how many got it, unforutnately.
BTW - teh teksid block was used up to 01.........that was the same casting as the 98. The problem with the 98s are they heads. they dont' flow as nice, and the cams as well....and, yep..they love boost.
