What on earth are you arguing here? Go back and read my first post (which was quoted here and there as well). The difference between a citizen committing a crime and a Police Officer is that the P.O. has NO REAL OVERSIGHT and will get away with it. Also his peers will back him up even though they SWORE OATHS to the truth. Your argument really doesn't fit within the frame of this debate except that perhaps you want it to.

This can be portrayed a few ways. Some kids don't get it. So the cops flicking his thumb down, meant nothing to him. However, the cop could of handled it another way. Just as some said he said of came over and said, "hey, I gave you the thumbs down to turn it down." He should of also introduced himself when he came over, undercover or not, he should of told you who he was if he's flashing a badge at you.

Most cops are hipocrits, period. I have a few friends who are officers. Playing his loud music could be a disturbance, so is the harley guys with their open piped bikes. Cops never pull them over.

I play my music loud, 85% of the time it's country. Never had an issue. You bet, it goes boom, boom, booom too.

I do agree about not playing loud music in certain areas, especially music with cursing. I do not like that at all. If those little kids can hear that, than it's too loud. You don't need to hear Rap with the F word coming out. To me, that's just pathetic.

I got pulled over in the fall taking my daughter to cheerleading practice, she's 5. Apparently, I had spun the tires. Cop was extremely mad about it, and honestly, I didn't think it spun but I didn't deny it. Radio was playing moderately since my daugher was in the car and the windows were rolled up. Cop told me I came from one spot and made a left hand turn at the light and spun the wheels. Told him, sorry, I did not and I came straight thru the light. Take in mind now, I have no points or accidents in over 15 years. You think he would of come back and said be careful next time. He gave me the ticket. I thought it was funny. I guess he thought I was some young buck driving the car. He clearly guessed that I had spun my tires, he wasn't sure. Reguardless, he could of just said be careful, etc. But when he was a dick about it, I found it amusing. If he's going to be an *sshole about it, no point in getting mad. My appointment is Feb 10th. I be surprised if he even shows up, rofl. Seriously, half those cops break the laws driving by speeding, spinning those tires, yeap, I've seen it with my own eyes and running stop signs by yielding instead of stopping. The point being, it's not a perfect world, but don't be a "hipocrit". There's a right and wrong way of saying it, weather your writing the ticket or receiving it.

oh, and for the guy witht the post. If your record is clean, ask for ppj. Tell him you was unaware of the sound ordance and the cop was trying to do something but you wasn't sure. They will drop it anyway. And if the cop doesn't show up. Say, "not guilty"!

So let me get this straight. The police job is to uphold all the laws right? And you with your bad TA go out and test and tune your new setup. You get stopped for speed, burnout etc. The officer is a car guy and give you a break. Another officer sees this. He has also sworn to uphold and ENFORCE the laws. You would want him to be told on for giving you a break? Would you tell on him for giving you the break? HELL NO you won't and that's what makes you a hypocrite. Like it was said before I guess you can do what you want because your not an officer.

I have only encountered one bad cop.....while encountering probably 7 respectful honest cops (2 gave me a ticket with no breaks). What concerns me is that there is no reasonable way to have the bad cop held accountable for his actions. It would be awesome if cops kind of governed their own but that doesn't seem to happen either...probably due to low moral from low pay...understaffing etc. As people in our society become more selfish, lazy, and unaccountable for their own actions, it's just going to get worse. These same POS citizens turn out to be POS cops...doctors....cashiers etc. It is too bad that the police, often, are not held in high regard. With the bad apples going unchecked, it is also understandable.

I can agree with this statement It's just too bad the cops get all the blame but I guess some of the bad cops do some pretty bad things. Oh well nobodys perfect.

You are one of those people that can't be reached...You are set in your ways from your experiences, observations, perceptions, and thats how you'll always be...Have I turned in bad cops? yep...Are there still some bad ones? yep...Do we all stick together? nope...I can't change your opinion of us and what we do to keep you and your family safe...If you have that much hatred for us and what we do, then by all means don't use us...Find your own stolen car, track down the guy that broke into your house, catch the guy that sexually attacked your children, search for days for the guy that robbed and shot you in the 7-11 parking lot...and tell me how everything works out for you...

Or just do as said before and do a ride-a-long and try not to **** your pants when **** goes bad...Now I'm out..

I apologize I must have misunderstood what you were saying and I agree it is unfair for a police officer to get away with a crime that an ordinary citizen would not get away with, but again police officers are human and if it is something small, like say a parking/moving violation it shouldnt be a HUGE deal as they are putting their lives on the line everyday to protects us and almost everyone has been given a warning or let go when they should have recieved a ticket. Its the big issues though that should be the focal point of the argument, not someone who was blasting music and was obviously given a warning (flashing the badge and gun) yet decided that he was being "intimidated", harassed the cop and got the violation he should have in the first place.

This is really funny. Ok, so I have plenty of run ins w/ cops here in moore, ok. Why? Cuz Im a punkass who drives way too fast, listens to music way too loud, and cuz I just dont care... However, I once got a ticket for going 25 in a 30 as I passed the cop he whipped around and almost caused several cars to wreck in doing so, once he pulled me over he said the typical "do you know how fast you were going?" i was like "yea 25" ok well im going to write you a warning for going FIFTEEN over. This was just after installing my 4inch cowl hood lol. Ok, so then i paint my car and get a ticket for 23 over, i was going 5 over..... asked to see the radar gun or some proof of me going this fast, and he asked me to step out of the vehicle, i did so as i was put in the back of the cop car as he searched my ****. let me go w/ my ticket after about 30 min and 3 cops coming around. both BS, could of been avoided on the last occurence. AND I have been pelled over for doing stupid **** such as pullin up to my friend that is pulled over and giving the tires hell, then getting a sick launch and getting up to 100 or so before being spotted by "backup"..... comes around goes around some are asses like most of the cops here seem to be but some are just ****** awesome......

Wow I just read through 6 pages of this crap to come to one conclusion. This post is nothing more than police officers, military personal, and civilians trying to argue about who's dick is bigger. And yes I am in the Army.
To the civilians, just chill out. The police force works for you, to protect and serve i believe. Yea some are dicks, but from what I learned the hard way is just smile and say yes sir yes maim and they will leave you alone. Too easy.
To the police officers, alot of yall are acting pretty high and mighty. I can't say much about it because my cousin is Houston police department and I know what he goes through on a daily basis. Yall go through hell, it is understandable to vent your frustration when peope say **** the cops but you gotta realize most these people saying that probably still live at home with mommy and daddy and dont know **** about the real world. They will learn, yall know that yall see it everyday!
To the military, same thing as the police, alot of yall are acting high and mighty as well. Talkin about I done this and I done that, hey yall know as well I as I do it is all part of the job. You knew what your were signing up for when you did it, no need to try and prove how big your ***** are. I give a rats *** what anyone thinks about me or what I do, because at the end of the day I know what I do and that is enough for me.
Sorry about the long post, but I didnt read 6 pages of **** to just say something small and stupid.

Ok, well when I read people saying I have done this and I have done that it seems to me that they are trying to prove something. I dont really care what anyone is trying to get to with this whole thread, it is a big worthless piece of **** imo.
Not only is it completely worthless, what the hell is it doing in the streetracing forum?

What you do is put together a formal letter to his boss and CC it to the Police Chief, the local news and the board of sups explaining what happend (make sure that the CC is on the bottom that way everyone knows that it has gone up to the board of sups).

I don't know the state this took place in, but as far as I know the officer who issued the ticket wasn't there to witness your stereo, not to mention a private property might have different laws as well.

Ultimately the power is in their hands, but the above method puts leverage on the officer in circumstances where he/she is wrong.

Had run-ins under similar circumstances, that seems to work... good luck and keep us posted

I have never really had any bad experiences with cops, I respect them they have a tough job.......they dont need us to make it any worse.

Just stay out of their way and obey the law, if you get a crooked pig well make sure you have just cause to press charges
