Thank you for replying, stockz.

In case you didn't know, the reason why Iraqis don't stand up for their rights is because of fear of violent retaliation from ethno-sectarian groups. In America, somebody can say something as obnoxious as "F*** the President!" without fear of reprisal. In Iraq, if somebody said something as trivial as "F*** the Jaysh al mahdi!", they're as good as dead.

I'm not a cop. I'm in the Air Force, currently deployed (see location). And if you follow the law, you usually don't have trouble with the police.

What you stated is an exception, not a rule. People in the military have been accused of things from rape to murder and manslaughter. Just like everyone else in this world, military personnel are human.

Thank you, but I'm not a cop. Anyway, I would like to pass this thanks to our forward-deployed folks in OIF and OEF, especially to our Marines and Soldiers.

As I've already said, I'm not a cop. I've had quite a few run-ins. Street racing, underage drinking, 20mph+ speeding, property damage, theft. My dumbass was treated fairly each time. And those things happened pre-military.

I don't understand the bearing that this question has on the police, but I've spoken to my congressman in person. In fact, he helped me get my job in the military, which I couldn't due to a technicality in the MEPS process. The issue went up to the DoD level.

Cha-Ching$$$$ The revenue machine at work. Talk about an easy 50.00, the city didn't even need ot offset the cost of the cruiser or gas from your ticket. Hell, nearly pure profit if the initial cop was not on shift.

I like this cop, saving my tax dollar to make some easy money!

Since you feel so strongly about it plead not guilty. The judge will decide your guilt or innocence based on the information he is given.... or by how poorly you present yourself. (hopefully he doesn't read LS1tech)

File a formal complaint against the officer through his department. They should look into the matter based on your report. Nothing will probably happen to him but if he has a history of doing such things or "making bad choices" it will be documented. A pattern of inappropriate behavior may exist and bring it to someone’s attention. At the very least he will learn to react differently and more appropriately.

Hopefully, you will too.

you know, my last watch on my .50 cal before i got out was on september 12th 2001, off the coast of New York. if i remember the news correctly, i saw firemen AND cops running into those buildings trying to save lives. alot of them never made it.

IF THINGS HAPPENED JUST LIKE YOU STATED AND YOU ARE NOT PLAYING THIS UP...here is my advice.

Dirty cops stick togather. The good cops are so far outnumbered that they wont say a word. My advice is to cut your losses, kiss ***, and move on. I know it feels bad to do that, but I know a lot of people who wish they had. One time my family filed suit against the city. Lawyer had a heart attack and my grandpa was jumped by 5 cops. Point in case, LEAVE IT ALONE. Cops are **** but there are too many of them to take on, legally or otherwise.

If you are being pissy about things and your story is embellished, my advice still stands if you ever DO run into a situation, but I will add to it...dont **** them off by starting **** that never was or you WILL have a situation.

This thread is very entertaining

The OP should of just turned the music down and left it at that. Why question the cop? You know he can screw You!!

I was pulled over and given a ticket for loud music. Which is a hell of alot louder than your L7. This happened at a movie theater parking garage. I had the whole damn garage sounding like an alarm. I looked in the mirror and the cop was there and pulled me over. He was being a dick and asked my why my music is sooooo loud? and then he said "people do not want to go into the movies with their ears ringing" But we all know how loud the damn movies are!
But instead of being a smartass i just took the ticket and drove off because i knew i was in the wrong. If i would of been a smartass that cop would of really shitted on me! Sometimes you just need to know when to bite your tongue.

PS.......the ticket was not as cheap as you guys think. That damn ticket cost me $157

Everybody is talking about the cop being a dick head. And that may be true about THIS ONE COP. Well is that the same for the Dirty Doctors, Managers at Banks, Auto Machanics, etc. What bothers me is when people put out a blanket statement and say " All cops are bad" or "There is way more dirty officers than good". Well if you have come into contact with that many cops to put out a statement like that then you have just answered EVERYBODY's questions. WHat kind of person are you? Obviously someone who can't or will not follow rules and regulation so your future is real dim.

There are dick heads everywhere. How many people here who is complaining about the cop can truely say they have not been a dick to someone who they felt deserved it. Maybe the cop is feed up with people and their loud music just like some people are feed up with street racing, burn outs etc.
Everyone is not the same, think the same, or feel the same about everything. I'm pretty sure some of the people complaining on this board have some funny ways too. People have to start realizing that first off there are laws no matter where you go. If you know the law why break it. If you don't know the law well it's kinda your responsibility to learn. Like driving. Have of the **** we need to know about driving we had to learn on our own. Hell I break the law too but if I get caught I have to "NOT EXPECT" for people to give me a break. If they do then fine and it is really appreciated. If they don't then hell I did the crime so I have to do the time or pay the fine. We all like to be given breaks but it's not one of our rights

Like I said, they are just another gang... Even the "good" cops don't tell on their buddies when it would "get them in trouble" for **** that they SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR. The Police are supposed to work for the people...

Every "good cop" that has replied in this thread.... Can you HONESTLY say that you have ZERO knowledge of ANY OTHER OFFICER that has *ever* broken the rules that you didn't immediately turn in? I didn't think so... You break the oaths you swore nearly daily.

It sounds like to me you don't break the law. If you did is it cool for your boy to tell on you? Not saying that any officer should withhold information on someone who is doing wrong. They should tell. But alot of people think that officers are not human. Yeah just like anybody, if you see something wrong you should step up and say something. Have you stepped up when you have seen or heard something done or said wrong EVERY TIME? IF you have well I'm glad that you have choosen to do the right thing no matter what. BUt if I was a betting man I would say that you have not stepped up EVERY TIME just like I know that all GOOD OFFICERS have not just closed their eyes to wrong doing ALL THE TIME.

Well said...............in my opinion people who tell on the little stuff are nothing but snitches, rats, and snakes. Save your whistle blowing for cops on the take, or other major things.

Exactly, if there is major corruption going on (taking money, using/selling confiscated narcotics, brutality, etc) then they should be held accountable, but people have to take into consideration how many times they break the law everyday. How many times do people speed, roll through stop signs, blow through red lights, litter, steal, etc and I dont see anyone turning themselves in...Also, how many times have people here been let off with a warning when they should have received a ticket? If you cant hold yourself accountable for every one of your actions then you cant expect all police officers to be saints/100% perfect.

Frost, not all cops are bad trust me for the money some cops get paid the only reason some cops do it is because they want to make a diffrence in their community. Just like ABA383 stated "The general public has no idea what really goes on when the lights go out...I will asure you that its nothing like you think i.e going out and singling out people like you. I suggest you go out on a ride along and see what it's really like. I asure you when you turn the patrol radio on and go 10-8 you will see the real world.

Well said TireFire. Get out in a car with a Police Officer that works in a rough area and see what it is really like. Go check out a County Jail and see what it is like to have hundreds, even thousands of felons all housed together and only 24 Deputies to handle them. Now those are not the odds I would like to be up against.

So basically since you didnt swear or take an oath to uphold truth, justice, etc you dont have to play by the rules? You can lie, cheat, steal till your hearts content? Not saying you do any of those things as im sure your a good guy but honestly man your basically saying that citzens can do as they please but police officers have to be perfect/near perfect and it isnt happening because officers are human like the rest of us.
