Talking RCSB 283 s-10 vs. 03 mach1 5spd (orange)

I was at the store getting some gas....as i was driving out of the parking lot, the mach flew by...hehe so i then proceded to chase him down....when i got next to him we had a stop coming up...At the light i revved and he revved back...and it was on like donkey kong.

I launched at about 3300, i was on the et streets.... they werent warm but they hooked good nevertheless. I slipped a lil, but gripped well enough to stay at his door out of the whole. As i wound first gear past 5 grand i started to gain a lil and all the way up to about 7200, i slammed 2nd and continued to creep up side side by side. Letting 2nd wind out got me a nose....as i threw third i began to pass him up...at the end of third he was just about at my bumper. when we shut it off...

we talked at the next light ...alls he had was cai, flowmasters w/cats

walked his ***....without the dual overhead cams too...hehe lol i know his motor has way more potential....mine just currently built better.

Good kill and yeah, 1 car isn't that big a deal. 10 cars is more like it.

283 bored .040

k&n 14x4 with X-stream lid

Crane blueprint cam of the L-79 327/350hp .447 lift [hydraulic lift, not roller]

Vortecs off a 98 5.0/305ci.heads are slightly ported&milled[no roller rockers]

Valve sizes are 1.89/1.50, the biggest a 283 left the fac. was 1.72 int. valve

Edelbrock Vortec Performer-RPM air-gap

650 Speed Demon

Hedman long tubes, into a custom 2.5in. x-pipe fed into 2.5 40series Flows

4 speed T-10, 3:42's; 26in mickey thompson Et Streets

this motor yields about a 10:1-10.25:1 comp. ratio

at the track launching the truck @ 3000-3300rpm range i knocked off 13.5's shifting @ about 7300rpm

Thats his setup I copied from the small block section. There was a small debate about its ability and reason behind it.

Good race. With et streets it sounds legit.

My first run at the track with my new heads was a 13.0 @ 105 and 30 degrees timing. I worked it up to 36 and got a best of 12.7@107. Timing made a pretty big difference.

Based on a few of his previous posts that I've seen, that could very well be the former...
