Default 2001 camaro z28 vs 2005 mustang gt supercharged

I was coming home last night from one of the local meets we have and this red 05 gt being all loud fishtailing out of the parking lot to catch up to me. We get to a stop light and i was going to the highway so he followed. We line up in my second gear at 4000 rpms i do the honk and we're off i instantly get the pull and continue then he starts to hold me when i get like 3 cars on him. So we line up again from a first gear roll and we take off but this time he is at my bumper. we run up to my speed limiter 120 and he was at my door when i got shut down by the limiter, on that run i did hit my rev limiter one time but it wasnt that hard. I realy thought i was going to get beat by the guy since 05s arent that bad and he had a blower on it vortec from what he told me. The car is running strong just wanted to share my story ford still cant keep up with the old f bodies lol.

Yep.

UNLESS...the S197 was spinning. Vortech kits on S197s are good for ~400rwhp. Weight is about the same....so I just can't see it.

I couldnt either to tell you the truth but he did have an extra person in the car bigger rims too like some chrome cobra R's and definitly had an exhaust system it was so load but the second time was so much better he might have missed a gear the first run? the second run like i said it was much closer and i could tell he was giving it his all because it was very close at around 100-120 and i asked him what he had and he said vortec. maybe it wasnt intercooled? but it was definitly a blown 05+ Gt. yea the comment with the ford thing is just a friendly joke i like to have fun when i can. I have owned a few 5.0's in the past.

Non- I/c.....could have been.

Nice runs nonetheless........a 10 sec car is only a 10 second car cause the driver made it.......in the wrong hands, it could be a 13 second car.

Good kill i wouldn't expect it though with the 05 being blown oh well

BUT i will say this, if it was like the 05 with a procharger i seen on the dyno when i was getting my 89 tuned then it is very possible you beat him. That POS made a whooping 367rwhp, don't ask how the tuner couldn't figure it out it had no more power in it no matter what they did. He totally screwed his motor up prior to having it tuned obviously.

HUH?....t hat seems like a tuner issues...or an install issues. I will say this.....procharger tunes suck. so if the tuenr was trying to 'tweak' that one.....I am not surprise. Maybe he had the largest pulley avail??

No the tuner uses his own tunes. This guy had 2 powerdynes on the car previously and blew both of them i'm guessing from overspinning them since they are only rated to safely go to 10-11psi. The motor was screwed up, this was not a tuner issue. It was making 10psi i believe possibly more, that was the problem the tuner was having he was telling this guy his motor was screwed up but the guy was trying to blame it on the tune. There was no possible way the car was going to make more power unless you put more boost to it.

I wouldn't have believe'd it either had i not been there. Compression test's resulted in 125psi at best on the car also. Seems kinda low don't it
