a bolt-on ls1 WILL lose to a 600 by as far as the bike wants......

not really that easy at all.. A stock zo6 and a R6 trap around the same speed.. around 125 mph the bike is prob even faster.. but what do you think would happen if the vette raced the bike from 60-160..

Aerodynamics (as stated before) is what limit most bikes in the top end

sciff5, WE are talking about a bolt-on f-body , NOT a 3100lb 500hp z06.......a zo6 RUNS away from a bolt-on f-body by DOZENS of car lenths 0 to 150.........so does ANY NEWER 600.....YES that EASY.....anyone saying otherwise has never raced a modern 600
aero drag ....lol......everyone with experience racing one will tell you they PULL AWAY at higher speeds......if the biker can drive.....again , newer 600s = 100+hp ...the same hp as 1000s of the late 80s and early 90s.....
I've raced many bikes with my z28......they run away at high speeds.....

my car weighs 3000, my LS1 was cam only, and id pull a new 600 from a fast hwy roll (65 on up...) with the top down.....

maybe im just a special case since its in a thirdgen body and weighs less, but honestly, the entire car is no diffrent from a 4thgen with the exception of the outer bodyshell... the entire drivetrain is either 4thgen, or bolton 4thgen replacement.

mrdude first off youre a smart *** *****, but besides that a 600cc motorcycle evenly modded with a ls1 will beat the car every time. dont add all that extra "but my car only weighs 3000lbs and i have an ls1 in it with a cam" bullshit. that is an very uncommon occurance and congrats to you for your car but the bike would win. get over yourself.

joezee is correct. your not touching a newer 600r bike with anything less than 550rwhp. has anyone seen the specs on the 05's and newer bikes??most of them run in the 10's in the mid to high 120's. your normal decent rider will still get em in the high 10 low 11 area...god, i rode my 2002 carberated zx6r ninja to a 11.23@124mph. you guys are delusional if you think your keeping up with something like that with a bolt on ls1.

i dont know about the 600s but i had a 05 R1 before i traded it in, hek i didnt have to shift out of first until around 100 mph, sucked from ds, but 40 and above look out, i had it to 168 once with plenty to go and it was pulling hard as hell when i let out...i was told the factory speed limiter shut them down at 189mph...i aint to much on them kindve of speeds...i liked riding wheelies more...sorry though im not trying to get off of topic, just saying really any new croch rocket 600 up i would put against any bolt on car...most of them anyway...

If the bike doesen't have a rider i'll run him all day long from a dig with a bolt on car on 150.I've run one 600F4i,one 600RR with them letting me leave on the street i'll put 1-2 car lemghts on them with boltons and 150

as daily rider of bikes since a week after i turned 18, dont get me wrong, i love bikes.

but the blind "the bike is always faster" thing is really stupid...

in anycase, throw a second person (well, guy my size) in my car, and poof, its the same damn thing as a cammed 4thgen...

as for "the bike would win"..... well, guess what? it has happened. multiple times. with people that can actually ride too...

the only thing i agree with in your post, is that im a *****.

I really don't see a 11 second car beating a crotch rocket. There weight to horsepower ratio is like 3.5 to 1 bike only, not including rider. And a bike that can keep its power band the whole time through out all of his gears is pretty leathal. Even a guy that does not know how to ride very well would be a hard person to beat.

If your car weights around 3000 pounds you would still have to be pushing around 700 hp and up, to even compare to a bike. And as far as airodynamics, sorry for the spelling, yeah they may not be that good, but it is still better than a car.

Thats just my .02. if I am wrong than so be it. But I would not personally go up against a bike thinking that I have the full advantage on winning. Maybe for ***** and giggles I would run with one. But not on a serious note.

Verses a newer 600 it wouldn't be a race unless a "few mods" can put the ls1 at a high 120mph trap. Might be a race against an older 600 though

another sportbike rider here and I agree that a bolt-on LS1 isn't going to compete with a newer 600 unless they start at like 100mph or more. Even then the bike is going to pull away and the car will be playing catchup until the aerodynamics makeup for the bike's advantage. Even by then the bike will probably top out around 160 or more while the car is still at 135-140...big gap to make up. That being said it's all up to the rider and the driver. A dumbass rider might not know to be in 2nd or 3rd at 100mph and may start in 4th or 5th. If that's the case then the LS1 will have a MUCH better chance at beating it. Oh and for you nitrous guys...I don't consider that a bolt-on

on a 150 TNT hit and cam only i was trappin 128 and i didnt have any trouble with the older 600's....f4is..zx6rs...gsxr's, i would just pull away from all of them. even a few 750's and very old 1000's. i ran a bran new 2006 R6 and the outcome was a bit differant...i pulled away slightly cause of the torque but he slowly closed the gap and by 150 he was about a bike length ahead. when i run bikes its usually at about 45-50mph with them in either 1st or 2nd gear.

now thats on a 150 squeeze so you can imagine how bad it would be on just bolt ons lol.

i have an '04 R6 and it's quick. i can hit 140 like it's nothing. cruising at 65 mph, i've cranked it to see 110 in no time flat. also, referring back to the aerodynamics, it all depends on how the rider is positioned. i've seen so many people tuck their heads behind the windscreen, but keep their knees and elbows out. if positioned correctly, there is not much of a disadvantage when it comes to that. the newer 600cc bikes are pretty scary these days.

A bolt on car is not gonna stay with 600cc bike. From the 100 rolls you may stay with him a lil longer but he will eventually walk away. My car is cammed and a buddy of mine has an 05 gsxr 600 we have raced numerous times just because, with my cammed car from 75 I will stay with him till 110 then we will lock in or he or I will walk away.its kinda a crap shot but before the cam he would destroy my car Unless your packing 550+ dont even mess with 1000cc litre bike because your gonna get drug. The only time I have witnessed someone run with a 1000 a buddy of mines dad had a procharged zo6 that would stay on the side of a gsxr 1000 but wouldnt walk it he had 570 to the wheels
