I,ve seen a lot of s/c, full exhaust G.Ts go 12.9 at the track.Thats why i said mid 12s, i can't see a 98 cobra go high 11s. plus how much would all that cost, seems like you could get h/c for a ls1 for less.

To you who keep saying you see gt's in the 12's well lets see the new edge gt's stock have 260 and 280 where as the cobras from 96-98 have 305and300 and respond alot better to mods and are alittle lighter....so i think i can get into the 11's trust me ive done the research, or i wouldnt be buying it....

U can def get into the 11s. The 4valve responds 10x better than a 2valve gt.

Maybe an automatic '96 GT with no other mods... I say go for the Cobra, man. They might not have quite as much power as an LS1, but they are still really great cars. I'd take an equally-modded Mystic Cobra ( ) over my car anyday

I have a buddy with a 97cobra 9psi vortech non intercooled, with nitos couldn't break into the twelves That car disappointed Then I've got an other friend with a 03 GT,LT, CAI, exhaust running a 13.1 all day. We sprayed a 75 shot and went 12.8.

You've seen a ton of pitiful-*** drivers. A supercharger at 9-10psi, with no other mods, non-intercooled on a 5spd 99-04 GT is ~360-370rwhp. You really think a 360-370rwhp car is only capable of 12.9?

Yes, sticky tire, good launch, low boost and gears will put a 98cobra in the high 11s.

trust me its possibly go to svtperformance.com and look at some of those guys setups and talk to them or even stangnet.com and you guys are just bias because its not an lsx motor, i mean i love them both and so i can realize the potential of all cars....and i may end up having 15k in the car thats including the price tag of the car which will be between 8-10k with about 5-6 k in mods....trust me if i do this look for an 11 second time slip near the end of 07 or early 08...well or w.e the equivelent of an 11 would be in the 8th as there are no 1/4 around here

Well I've only seen (in person) one stock LS1 go quicker than 13.4... but I know that they can.

Although id never trade either of my ls1s for a stang. Ill admit i like most all of the v8s. And besides ive seen a vortech 6lbs boost LS1 never break a 13.3 on street tires, plus any looser can misrepresent his respective brand.

thats pretty sad considering a 96-98 Cobra with Full Exhaust, tires, and gears can be in the 12's with an average driver....
