Yes the 03/04 is the "Best of the best", but not everyone can afford a 23-28k car. The SN95 Cobras are very affordable and offer great performance. The OP has an LT1 and the 96-98 4v 4.6 is very comparible in performance with those. Go with the 98 man and dont look back. my friends 03 gt on 150 shot with boltons went 11.50s @119.my almost stock mach went 13.0 @106 or 7? . just got cai ,rear upper and lower control arms,intake spacer ,underdrive pulleys and will get tuned .should be done within 2 weeks cant wait to see what it goes after that

Well after about 2 months of thinking and considering the insurance on this car i got is really cheap, im just gonna rebuilt my tranny and freshen up my motor and do a h/c/i swap this summer on my lt1...

i run 3:73's with a 150 shot and i can get traction with a good burnout and dragradials.
also procharger got an 04 gt with a their p1sc stage 1 kit and 3:73's, no other mods not even bolt ons to run a 12.1 on drag radials.
ls1's are a bad *** cars dont get me wrong but with the way the car is sut up driving one is not for everyone.
MA will be dooing away with emissions testing 95 and older cars. so maybe when that happens ill start my ls1 notchback project. low 12's w/ a stock ls1
