I know what youre talkin about man, my first car was a 5.0 fox and i miss the thing. Overall I prefer my Z28 because of the power and handling mostly, and not having to worry about it breaking down all the time, but like people have said, its all preference.

Let us know what you end up with.

When I was looking for my next car. I was looking for a 99-01 Cobra or a 94-95 Cobra, or of course an LS1. When I was looking I found a 1995 Red Cobra with tan leather, the car was MINT MINT it had 700 MILES ON IT!! I wish I could have afforded it (14k) I would still trade my car for that any day. It may be slower, but its more exclusive, and 700 miles!! I say, get what you want. There will ALWAYS be someone faster. Get the car you like, dont get an LS1 just because it's faster, you won't be happy.

I say keep lookin for the TA.

I have been on both sides of the fence, and was even an SVT certified tech.

If you want something that is cheap to make fast the LS1 Is the way to go.

i will always have a specail place in my heart for cobra's though. I love mustangs but one of the stupidest things i could have done was trade my 2002 TA for a 2006 Mustang GT. Its like getting kicked in the ***** everytime i open the garage door and its not there. I thought the same thing when i traded my first mustang for TA at first, and now i wished i hadn't traded it on the newer mustang.

I have owned several mustangs over the years and only one LS1, and to be honost those cars really get to you as far as the power. Both are fun to drive so enjoy what you get!

If i were to buy a cobra it would be an 03-04 though not a 1998. that or look for a used mach 1 that would be sweet too. as far as pricing, you can find a moderatly used Ls1 for fairly cheap, and it will have way more power than the cobra from the start.

I like both cars so enjoy what you get and good luck!!

Just my .02

That Cobra looks sweet. Do as others said, the normal bolt-ons, + 4.30's and tires and that thing will be moving. Oh and PonyGT65, the NA 4v needs some gear man, if this guy is going to keep it NA for awhile then 4.30's are perfect, 4.56's would not be bad either, then drop down to 3.90 or 4.10 once blown.
