05 GTO vs 99 SS Well ive noticed this GTO around town here lately with after market rims on it, and heard he was cocky. Well this weekend i finally got to race him. Both cars are six-speed, and both only have cold air intake and exhaust. We went 3 different times. I got him 2 out 3 times.
1st run: He had a passenger and i didnt, we went from like a 45 kick, and we didnt do 3 honks we both just kinda geared down, and i got the jump on him and got him by 1 car.
2nd run: Both of us didnt have a passenger, and we went from a 30 kick, but we only raced through 1st and 2nd because of a car coming in my lane, but i still got him by 1/2 car.
3rd run : 35 kick, guy finally learned how to shift. This is the run where he got me, the 05 GTOs RL 500rpms higher than a LS1 so this is where he got me....we were dead even in 1st, then i had to shift to 2nd a little before he did, so he jumped a fender on me, then i gained that fender back in 2nd gear, then i shifted into 3rd before he did so he got another fender on me, then he pulled a little more and made it a 1/2 car lead by the time we hit 4th, then we shut it down.
I have to admit, i thought i was going to pull the GT0 on top side due to their weight, but those LS2's breath better up top than a LS1 does.
After the race, all my friends were mad at me because i didnt spray him, but i was curious if i could beat one all motor. They are fast! It was fun

Sounds JUST LIKE my race against an 06 M6 GTO except we were both alone and I am bone stock and he got me by a little more, gave me a 1/2 car hit and then beat me by 1/2 car 70-120mph. Makes me feel better!

I just wish i would have sprayed it!

nice paint job but, if you have the dope and she is ready, go ahead and spray. I did the same thing that you did and lost also and the guy went around running his mouth off and i tried to get him to race me again and he refused, so [B]always spray[ /B] if it is there,

yes those are fast cars stock. i have an 02 Formula with a few mods and ran across an LS2 GTO a week ago. well we went at it from 55 MPH i had him by half a car till bout 90 then he pulled up dead even and thats how it ended. and hes the only thing ive ran into so far that has atleast tied me. but on record ive killed a new charger RT from a roll on and got an 03 Cobra from a stoplight with luck on my side

Why wouldnt you "destroy" him? You have bolt-ons and a cam
