Of course I know that. I just know a S2000 owner made a good point over on s2ki.com when a GT owner tried to come on there and denounce the Honda.

Does it really matter what kind of car is it as long as the owner is having fun, and maybe even running some good times?

I have a friend with a gutted 87 Monte... biggest piece of **** in the world, but its got a ZZ383 crate motor and its nothing to laugh at and he loves it more than I love my poontang. So does it matter what it is? They are all just pieces of metal with tires, and who gives a **** what it is if its a drag car, any car can be stripped and prepped for drag racing.
Arent S2000's light, with RWD? They seem like a decent candidate to me.
Im not stickin up for them, but ive seen and heard of worse things... like FWD civics

As for the comment about dragging S2Ks... what would you say about road raced f-bodies? There are a few RR and AX veterans on this site. Are they asswipes too?

Irunelevens, point taken on the no torque = all traction. Sounds like they go through quite a bit of abuse.

 

i assume your stock Z28 runs better then a 13sec 1/4. You can have a stock s2k with a set of gears and run a 13 flat

Speed and what is considered fast is 100% opinion.
You could say that a space shuttle is slow.

But saying anything that doesn't run a single digit time makes you the biggest 'er on LS1tech.
The Point of View is what matters here.

 

Exactly my point... there are people that successfully roadrace F-bodies and Mustangs, in spite of them not being designed for that purpose. Just like there are people that successfully dragrace (maybe not competitively, but they go very fast) S2000s, even though that is not what they were designed for.

 

The S2000 is a great handling car up to the point it spits you off the road backwards. When my Cobra was stock I *** raped my friend so bad in his S2000 that he traded it in for a Mazdaspeed 6 not that long after. After driving the all about high rpm Cobra I bought a C5 to have my cake and eat it too. Something to be said for power everywhere on the tach.

 

Suck a dick ******, YOU CAN have a bone stock z28 running high 12's(12.90's) which has been duplicated by quite a few people as well as a few magazines as well(not the norm. but we arent talking about that are we?). You add a pair of DR's to that Z28 and you have 12.5-12.7's BONE STOCK(if the glass jaw doesnt grenade). Get that ricer garbage out of here you Stock for stock, mod for mod the f-body is faster and can handle relatively well(not quite as good but hell what do you expect when it weighs more and isnt a purpose built, factory track car?) how does taste?

I could care less if my car runs, 11's, 12's, 13's, 14's 15, etc...
Running a 12 or 11, or a 10 is just a matter of spending more money.

I'm sure you've got dozens of people PMing you saying "what slow comments" rather than post in this thread. Whoa check this out, my PM box was full of people telling me you're an idiot, but they didn't want to post in the thread! I got a lot of E-mails too, about 400 of them telling me what an idiot you are!!! Some guy even tracked me down and called me at work to tell me that!!!

 

I agree that fast or slow is relative. My wife drives an XC90 V8 and I drive a Nitrous C5. So even as jaded as I am on what is fast and slow I still think that for an SUV one that runs high 14's low 15's is pretty fast. For me it depends on what I expect out of a car to label it fast or slow. For instance I drove a Hemi Charger the other day and was expecting it to really move with 390 lb ft. After driving it I came away with the thought that it was really slow based on my expectations. Not that long ago when the C5 came out 13.30's was considered pretty damn fast!
