For me it depends on what I expect out of a car to label it fast or slow. For instance I drove a Hemi Charger the other day and was expecting it to really move with 390 lb ft. After driving it I came away with the thought that it was really slow based on my expectations. Not that long ago when the C5 came out 13.30's was considered pretty damn fast!
)It's 2007 now and a lot of mid size sedans are running low 14's and in the 13's. It's insulting to think there are a lot of 4 doors that can run with a stock LS1. A stock LS1 just isn't impressive anymore, that's why we mod them. 11's are very quick but you're not exactly king of the road in an 11 second car either, there are plenty of imports, mustangs and such driving around that can still hand you your ***. There are at least 3 single digit LS1 street cars in my ZIP code, I consider them pretty damn fast.

You're going out of your way to tell me everyone's opinions are just opinions, except yours, which is "right"
Let me ask you this, when you click off your 13.2 second passes (do you even go to the track?) do your friends tell you people in the crowds were going "WHOAA ****!! DID YOU SEE THAT?? DID you SEE THAT?!?!?!?!? HOLY ****!!!!!!!!" when they saw you race?
I'm sure you've got dozens of people PMing you saying "what slow comments" rather than post in this thread. Whoa check this out, my PM box was full of people telling me you're an idiot, but they didn't want to post in the thread! I got a lot of E-mails too, about 400 of them telling me what an idiot you are!!! Some guy even tracked me down and called me at work to tell me that!!!

No matter what you run usually someone else has more money and more time. It actually is very easy to go 9's if you have the money in any car. It simply involves writing a check!
My C5 runs high 11.9X @ 119~ mph N/A and a fastest time of 11.1X @ ~126 mph on the bottle. (with the old tranny and stall) and I consider it fast. But a friend of mine runs an 03 KB 5.0 Stroker Cobra and my car to him N/A is slow.
My personal goal is mid 10's which isn't hard since I am only running a 100 shot right now but part of me says screw it and get a Procharger and spray on top of that rather than running a bigger shot.

You said anything not in the single digits was slow?

I guess a lot of it depends on where you live. My car runs 11’s @124 on street tires and should go probably 10.80’s on ET Streets.
Where I live my car is slow! Around here single digits are becoming the standard for a respectable street car.

These days even running 9's won't guarantee that you won't run across something that will send you crying home to momma! Hell my boss is looking at a Ultima GTR 720 and they run 9's from the factory and thats even set up for handling!
i assume your stock Z28 runs better then a 13sec 1/4. You can have a stock s2k with a set of gears and run a 13 flat
stock S2K with gears running a 13 flat? you liar. Go over to S2KI.com and see what times these guys are running. Their best mod by far is VAFC (computer tune, lots of $$$$) which gives them up to 20rwhp throughout the power band. Beyond that, there are only a handful that run mid 13's with intake, exhaust, tune, gears, tires. Not many run faster than that.
S2K's are fantastic cars, but they are not drag racers. Auto-cross is their forte.
And even in auto-x a modded WRX or STi will give you more in a straight line and still handle better than an S2000. I don't understand the S2000. I would much rather a FD RX-7 or even god forbid a 350Z or EVO.

[QUOTE=B.W.] "4 Bangers" don't need upgraded turbo's to run similar times either. An Evo or STi can do that stock. Look at this thread, it was all about a NATURALLY ASPIRATED "4 banger" that runs 13's...stock.[QUOTE=B.W.]
The S2000 is an example of newer technology, and those 4 bangers have turbo's to make them 270hp, and they only run 13's because of the AWD, the same AWD thats makes them easy pickens on the highway in stock form.

Listen, I don't know where youre goin with this, but youve tried to change the subject because when I first asked you what you considered fast, (post 46), you replied and said, "single digits" (post 51).
The economy changes due to new technology, and the only reason a Jeep is runnin a 13 is because of technology.
The new Viper is said to be 625hp, and lets not forget the C6 Z06 that runs pretty much 11's out of the box.
But I guess if it aint single digits its slow?
Listen, the whold point of this is to show you "fast" is a point of view and while the majority can agree on what fast is, there is no one with complete say. Especially a little smartass like you.

I can still take 90% of whats out there.
Do you want me to printscreen the page and circle it for you?

What I said exactly:
"What is fast?"
"Single Digits"
What you interpret it as:
"Single Digits, or faster."

Once again.... technology and 260+hp V6's make them do this.
The new V8's are 400hp.
Yeah because its got a 400hp V-8 that was originally designed for a car, but they placed it into a babywagon and slapped SS/or SRT on it and some chrome wheels.

Don't worry, for your sake, the majority of people that read this will forget about it soon enough.

I am racing my car this year. when I say "racing" I mean Im trying to win my class. I need to make it to 6 or more races. I ran a 11.3 last year on stock tires, diff, and trans. This year we have a new motor, diff, drive shaft, axels, and hubs. We should get down to the low 10 or high 9s

As far as I am concerned, it could be possible for an S2K to hit a low 13 with the right set of tires, VAFC, !cat, intake, and exhaust, but not many if any have done it. Your friend may be the outlier in this statistical analysis, and that happens.
Please if you have some info that can prove me wrong showing at least a few cars that have done this, I would be very much down to research it. There is no data. Congratulations on your car, I wish you the best of luck, and it is much faster than mine, but to conclude our discussion: it is highly unlikely, although minutely plausible that S2K's can run low 13's or better with just gears.
