The average car is getting more and more horsepower these days. I am not sure what the deal was, what speed did you gun it at?

Some of these newer cars will suprise you..I got into it with one of the guys at work, he has a '05 Maxima, M5. He got me off the line for the first 50 ft cause I was spinning a little bit, but as soon as I got into 2nd, I flew past him. Stock they are supposed to be about 260hp, something close to that. They don't weigh all that much either, so some of you guys with the heavier cars would have a good run stock for stock.

The stock Subaru Impreza WRX STI has 276hp out of that Boxer 4cyl, and it's AWD. That's all them Asians know how to build, some of them little 4cyl and 6cyl will get up for what they are.
I'll still take my Gas-suckin V8, cause that will throw you in the seat and let that other guy in the Import know what the ***** up..

I have that same kit in my car. Everything in that kit went in no problems. You can also get rid of EGR and have it tuned out when you install that Cam. The Springs are at their max with that Cam. They will work, but if you change Cams, you will need different springs. As an extra, I upgraded to the GMPP LT4 Extreme Duty Full Roller Timing Set when I did my rebuild, that way I have a complete Roller Valve Train.

I know, but 276hp stock is still pretty good for a 4-banger, basically a AWD go-kart, I drove one that was 400hp one time, it went pretty good. It will suprise you if you were on the road with it.

Are you serious?

If I didn't know the maint. history on the car that would be the first thing I ever considered.. not continuing to beat on it racing people.

If you're getting a stutter or hesitation at upper RPMs -- something is obviously not right. I would most definitely do spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, and change all of the fluids (oil, coolant, tranny, differential).

Visalia CA? If so you must be out your mind doing that ****.
Yeah I'd check into it, has to be something wrong with your car, even if the new Altima has some decent power, it still isn't meant to accelerate as rapidly as a LT1 car, I'd completely tune that car up of yours....

Yea no wonder he almost beat you, with that many on the clock and no tune up. I almost don't believe it's never had plugs, wires or opti replaced. Surprised you were able to make 120 like that.

I have SRT4 for a DD. I took it to the track a few weeks ago, my Camaro needs a clutch, and ran a 13.6 at 104. All that is done to it is Stage 1 and no cat. DP. It wasn't much slower than the first times ever in my Camaro. I was very impressed considering it is my DD and it's a 4cy.(turbo).

well the car was only a weekend driver for the 2 past years older man 70 i think he was. he said he never drove over 70. 2nd day i got it i flushed the diff gear box oilchange radiator fluid the 2nd week i had it, the clutch went out and now 2 weeks ago the rearend is going out, i got it for a good price so even replacing some minor tings is still not too much, i know its stock plugs and wires i was soing to do it all myself but this would be the first time messing with something this compact compared to my 80z

Well about the Altima SE-R, they have like 270HP with the same motor as a 350Z. They are M6's, and are comparable to the 02-03 Maxima's, but alittle lighter and from what I have heard more aggresive gearing. If your car is stock, an SE-R with a good driver will run 14.2-14.1 off the lot. To be honest with you, I've seen better times out of 02-03 Maxima's and Altima's than I have the 350Zs. With a good driver against a stock LT1 it would actually a fairly close race.

And you want to talk about V6's now a days being fast? How about that new IS350 that runs 13.2 stock behind an A5.
