That shows intent IS to make America look bad, go to streetfire and see when the crew drove through Alabama with anti-Religous and anti-Nascar slogans. They about got shot. Funny episode but still trying to show Americans are years behind. Guess they have not driven a 70K C6 Z06 that will clean thier streets at 1/3 the price of the cars they usually highlight.

I thought their review of the Z06 was positive reviews overall and on the performance vs money example?

This is just what I heard from a fellow at work, as I havent seen any other episodes.

Yeah, although i do like the show.. it's filmed well and everything but they do downplay american cars to a degree. I thought that alabama episode was hilarious though. Made me want to grow a mullet!

After watching the review, I'd still take a c6 vette over the GT500. I still hate the looks of the SN197s.

I mostly agree with their review. I do think they only play at a bias towards American cars as well, more for their demographic than any real feelings towards the US (it is, after all a British tv show). The comments on Horsepower were quite ignorant though, especially coming from a supposed automotive expert.

just watched the episode.. 447(9?) rwhp. I have heard that with a tune and some minor modifications it really wakes up. Is this true?

I'm at work so I can't read all that John Clease ****. But I did read the first few paragraphs. Just the first few are enough to provoke any American, regardless of how horrible our Presidency is. Most Americans would side with me by giving him the finger

And that's the American way.

In most cases, an intake and tune will give them over 500RWHP. So yes, minor modifications do wake them up A LOT.

The reason they have been (until now) "talking trash" about American cars, is because they didn't provide the all-around package that their European counterparts offered, no matter the price. Yes, a C6 Z06 will run right with a 911 Turbo and Gallardo on the track. But where they nitpicked was in the overall feel off the car, the interior, etc. To alot of them, the US vs. Euro thing is kinda like comparing an F-body to a Corvette (bad example, but whatever)... the F-body can do alot of stuff that the Corvette does, almost as well in some cases as the Corvette. But just because the performance is SIMILAR, does not mean that they are in the same class, or even should be seriously compared with one another. The purpose of the car, and the way that it carries out its purpose are completely different between the two.

My only thought is who the hell can afford a gar-lod-oh or a 9-1-1 porch-a.

Besides we have aloominum nucular missiles.

It doesn't help that it our president that is the one mispronouncing nucular and I-ran (instead of E-ron) yet he properly pronouces E-roque (E-rack).

Well lets comepare the LS2 C6 to the GT500 (because the Z06 is in another class of the GT500)

The c6 might not be faster, but it is a better made car because,
1. the light weight body makes the car more agile and more responsive.
2. the weight also makes the car more fun to drive
3. gas consumption is a true plus
4. although this is subjective, the Vette looks nicer inside and out.
5. automatic c6's have ran 12.2 on stock trim....

so a bone stock C6 lined up against one.. would the GT500 be a little worried?

I also remember at the end of the show, JC said the Z06 was rubbish as an everyday car. He said it was noisy, cheap inside, and had a horrible STEREO! Sounds like he was just pissy at not being able to find anything REALLY wrong with it.
