yea and I saw an 00 SS with a turbo mounted behind the axle at my local track that never broke into the 12s in the 1/4. Obviously there was an issue with tuning or driver sucked. Obviously the car should be capable of much more.

If I haven't driven one then how would I know if they are easy to launch or not?

So the owner let you do a drag strip launch with his new GT500?

Let me just grab some popcorn. So being so easy to launch I would imagine the average person to be what within 2 or 3 tenths of Evan Smith?

stock on good tires the GT500 is capable of going deep into the 11s.
No way in hell is that happening. That much weight with that horsepower on those tires, ain't going to happen. Especially with the vast majority of them slower than a stock C6. I'm not saying the car can't be fast, but for the claimed output and the cost, it just isn't all that impressive.

One of the top drag racers in the country can only get 12.2 but you think theres another 7 or 8 tenths there with DR's??

Yea pretty much

As I would imagine someone that owns a 450rwhp+ car wouldn't be as ignorant as you (that is what your car makes correct?).

That is like me saying your average person in a C6 Z06 wouldn't be able to do any better than 12.5.

Ranger did 10.85's on a C6 Z06 with DR's, are you saying a normal person can get within 2 or 3 tenths of that time? I will admit to not being the worlds greatest driver so I don't imagine that I could get even within a half second of a pro driver.

In my life I won't come across a stock GT500 that I won't be able to crush from a dig or roll, thats all my point was.

Do you think someone that has never been to the track is going to spend the average $60,000 for a Mustang that he doesn't know how to drive? Let me guess...you're the average Chevy lover that works at the Ford dealership. I love those types of guys.
Most regular track goers will never have a 60K car. Most people getting a GT500 will never race it beyond maybe one night at the track.

Wow, you will never lose to a 12.7-13.0 car (as you put it). Man...John Force look out! germeezy1 is right behind you.

Is that kinda like no one who buys a 03 Cobra will never take it to the track? If not then please tell me the huge difference between the two and why someone would take a 03 Cobra to the track and not a GT500.

the difference is a price tag that has been multiplied by 2

I think a pulley upgrade is a pretty heavy bolt'on. Anything that adds 25-30hp in a single modification, has just passed the status of "bolt'on."

In a year the price of the GT500 will be sticker. Just this year I've seen 4 GT500s at the track. That is within what...the last 3 months. You ellisjuan guys are in denial. Don't worry, in a couple of years the Camero will be back. LOL

Because a $150 part and 30 minutes is a heavy engine modification.

it requires a new tune. Typical bolt'ons do not.

So a good CAI for a 05 Mustang GT is a heavy engine modification also because you have to tune the car?

why do you have to tune the car just because you added a CAI? I didn't have to do tune mine until I put a cam in.

What about my old MR2...I added a $15 boost controler and it gave me over 30hp. Did that pass a "bolt-on" too? But I didn't have to tune the car... lol

I agree most as in the majority of GT500 drivers will never take there car to the track. Some will of course but most will not. But as easy as they are to launch you will probably see bone stock cars break into the 10's.
