Default Got a stang kill this morning

Since it came a good storm last night I decided to drive the GTP and leave the camaro in the garage. The events of the morning are listed below......

So I'm clicking along listening to Mancow on 94.3 when I see this guy in a mid 90's bodystyle GT mustang next to me.

Damnit, I had to be in the grocery getter . Wait a minute, I'm supercharged, duh! So I sped up a little to see if this guy wanted to play, luckily he does so we slow down to about 15 mph and nail it. ( The mustang was an auto thank goodness, was easy to tell. ) I hear the loud sound of a 4.6L going WOT. I do the same and the GTP starts pulling hard while the mustang fades away into the rear view. Just imagine if I had driven the Z-28. He got his butt busted by a near stock 4-door family car with a V6, it would have been ugly in the Z-28.

That about sums it up but because the mustang faded so quickly in the rear view, I was unable to get his race for racial identification purposes. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

yea, those stock 4.6 2V GTs are crazy fast. Your GTP must be a real rocket.

How "near stock" is the GTP?

Just a K&N Cold Air intake, 3" intermediate Pipe minus the resonators and high flow cats. Other than that it's bone stock, less than 30,000 miles. It's a 2005 model loaded GTP, AKA the family car.

I guess so, for a 4-door family car with a V6 to outrun a V8 mustang.

I agree, there isn't anything good on the radio in the mornings around here so I just flipped it to his dumb *** and listened to a bunch of bullshit for a little bit. I used to listen to John Boy and Billy but they have become about as dumb as Mancow.

Have you ever run it at the track? Sounds like a low-mid 14s car.

Not yet, it feels pretty quick but it's my wifes Daily Driver and the family car so she doesn't let me beat on it that often. I'll take it to Bristol sometime this summer and see what it runs. I'd like to throw a pulley and a few more mods on it to maybe get in the mid 13's. I don't know what all it would take to get it that fast though.

low 15s stock. Pretty good for a 4 door s/c V6. Right there with a N/A SVTC and a 94 GT.

I beat a GTP in my old (stock) Integra, but it was a CLOSE race. One of the closest I ever had.

The Comp G's are running about 14.7-.8 if the owner can drive a lick, but they have a 3.29 gear.
