Default Blown SRT10 vs. bolt-on '01 Z28

So I was driving past bricktown on I40 here in Oklahoma City and I hear something...something mean. I look two lanes over and there's my dream truck. White SRT10 shortbed/single cab with blue racing stripes. He hits it and it sounds wicked and just pulls like a ****. I throw mine into 3rd and hung behind him as he exited in front of me. I followed him until he pulled over and asked him if he wants to go from a dig. He does, so I follow him to an empty road and we line em up. He says we'll go on the honk. I'm pumped at this point because I haven't gotten to just all out flog mine in forever. He honks once and I'm off...lol I misunderstood, he meant 3 honks. I back it up with my tail kinda tucked and laughing. One honk, I bring'er up to 2500rpms and say a little prayer for my 10bolt and hope I don't miss a gear. Two honks, third honk and we're off clean. I put a car maybe two on him out of the hole and hit second, retained the lead through second. Low and behold, I nail third like a friggin pro and he is reeling me in slowly. I nail fourth and he's half a car behind. I let out at the top of fourth with the win. I'm ecstatic. I knew he was severely traction challenged and he said he wanted to go again from a roll. We turn around and go back the other way. Third honk and we're off from a 20-25 roll. I put a car on him into 2nd gear. Through 3rd he's riding my bumper like a ***** out of work. 4th gear and his front bumper is at my door. I hit 5th and hang in there to about 130 or so as he's slowly reeling it in before I let out. He'd have passed me if I hadn't let out but that was as fast as I'm willing to go for a street race. 2 for 2 baby! Nice guy and a bad *** truck. I think he said it's puttin 620 to the wheels.

Sweet! Nice runs. I love SRT10s, Vipers and Rams. As far as your sig goes.....Go for the 454 N/A motor, That would be sickness.

I'm gonna have to call BS that you beat a 600+hp truck in your mostly stock f-body. A 600rwhp truck could pull 10's no prob. You aren't quite at 10's... Even if he was the worst driver in the world on street tires, he still should be able to reel you in and put some cars on you on the big end.

Well Chadder...it happened, twice. I have his number if you'd like to call him and find out for yourself? Those trucks are HEAVY as hell. More detail on my car is that it weighs in at 3450lbs with me in it and put down 350hp/362tq. Has most of the bolt ons..haven't installed my FTRA yet and still has the stock harmonic balancer. I'm not too shabby at rowing that T56 either.

I don't want his number, but I would like to know more about his truck. Blower type? How much boost? Other mods?

Novi 2000, 6psi, 3" true duals...that's really all I know about the truck other than it's a heavy weight. 600HP in a 5500/6000lb truck..I still don't think that would net you 10's. I was just extemely surprised that he didn't start to pass me until 125-130ish. I haven't ran my car at the track yet since I had it tuned.

No way that truck runs 10's. Maybe mid 12's in Oklahoma, and if he's lucky a high 11 at sea level. It's not always in how much horsepower you have, but the combo. Ed's combo worked in this case. Twice. The power in that truck was fixing to show up when they let out.

Also, I don't know anything about the blower on that truck, if it was intercooled or not, I just don't know. After the first run, I'd guess his IAT was warm as well...anywho, these things happen on the street.

Those trucks already spin like a mother stock, I can only imagine what it does when you add more power.

they have 500hp not 600...

My buddy had 2 of them...the extended cab. which was auto and then the single cab 6 spd....trucks are fast. He said his single cab one is just as fast if not faster then his old modded lightening that ran a 12.6 on 23" chrome rims.

I'm sure they don't weight anywhere near 6000lbs.

You can claim whatever HP numbers you would like to. I saw one dyno on a Dynojet 2 months ago and it laid down 390rwhp in bone stock form. 500....Not hardly.
