I guess.....

A GSR turbo hatch might be as low as 250HP. From a dig he has FWD to deal with. From a roll, power matters just as much as power to weight and you have a lot more power in many cases.

I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

Now he might be one of the rare cars that actually has a complete system with a good intercooler and plumbing, who has a stable AF curve and who has a method of controlling timing so that he does not get knock retard all the way. If he is runnning big boost, you might be in trouble. But thats a lot of ifs.

GL!

If it's a red hatch then it's 299 hp and 217 torque at the wheels. In a light weight.

Powerband won't matter from a roll.... he'll likely start right in the middle of it (if he can drive). There are some DEADLY Civic hatches around here. Good luck, and post up the results.

True, true... yeah just go race him... no shame in losing to another well set up car out there... it's all in the game.

Just what I expected. Got my *** handed to me.

The hightway had too much traffic.

55 roll in third. Twice same result
---------------------------------100-->civic
---------------------100--->gto

40ish roll once in second
----------------------------------------100--->civic
---------------------------------->gto

from a red light spinning like crazy.
------------------------------------>civic -traffic-
------------------------------------->GTO Shut down around 80

Not really disappointed because I knew what was going to happen. I had seen videos of him beating a TT 350z and hanging with a built C6vette

Good runs and he was a cool guy. Not a **** talker by any means.

I figure the only way i would have won would be a 80-100 roll. He would beat me in the 1/4 easily.

I feel your pain. Had a '99 hatch with the Vtech and a 14psi turbo slowly pass me when he hit 4th. He had all of his power at 7000rpms. From a 2nd gear roll, it took him that long to get past my fender but I had to stop due to a car. We had already passed the 1/4 mile mark so who knows what would of happened if we would of kept going. I would of won the 1/4 from a dig. I have 1 7/8 Kooks w/cats, Fast intake, K&N CAI, underdrive pulley, 160 t-stat and some weight reduction. This was un-tuned and I had 280lbs of people in the car. By myself I would of won. When I get a tune, I'll challange him again. He gave my his number for a rematch.

I'll give him props, a fast car is a fast car!

I'm not gonna speak for him, but my buddy Tyler (Mach1 on here) has encountered some MIGHTY quick little Civic hatches at the Arlington meets. Good runs, and it's good that the guy was cool.

Good death. A fast car is a fast car, regardless of its maker. Glad to finally see a post that didnt bash the import for winning and both drivers were respectable.
