Default BMW 335i?

Hey all,
My buddy just got a brand new BMW 335i - twin-turbo stock engine with 300 ponies/300 torque and a 6-speed auto transmission...I've toyed with his car a bit in my '02 SS vert but nothing more than a few seconds - can i beat him or should I avoid the race for now???

Had one for breakfast, lunch, dinner, breakfast.

Nice to look at, and potent by euro-sport standards, but even a bolt-on vert should take it fine.

Besides, what difference does it make? Race him and find out.
If he wins and your butt's sore, just throw the old, "Yeah, but how much did you have to spend to beat me?"

I have a buddy that dynoed something like 312rwhp with an intake and a tune... they're pretty potent little bastards.

Saying something like that just makes you look like a tool, its run what you brung and who cares what it cost. If we bought our cars for bang for buck we didn't get the best one. I could have bought a 5.0 and made it a 10 second car with the price I paid just for my car, and even make a DSM a 10 sec car for pennies.

If your buddy gets the procede (sp?) chip for his car it will considerably add some hp and tq for him but also cost around 1200 for it as well. They can be fast cars just since its a BMW parts are in correlation to the price of the car for the most part making them expensive.

Really? Cuz most of the people I talk to with them like them over the E46 M3s...

Im not doubting that they can be fast. However I know they are expensive to mod (looked at a few M3's before buying my Cobra) I guess its personal preference, but for the price there are a bunch of other cars I would buy.

Vishnu is the company modding them, they are good for 12's with mods. I would buy one but only in 4 door as a companion to my Vette!

Vishnu? Hopefully they are not blowing them up like they did to some Evo's. When I had my Evo I was talking to Vishnu since they are local but then I heard a few horror stories so I went elsewhere.

The link to the dynosheet isn't working, but I'm assuming is somewhere around 300rwhp?

They are just a tad slower than the e46 m3.......so they will give a stock ls1 a god run....

maybe with some more boost, fuel, and free flowing exhaust they could be better. but stock, i'd say you'll smoke it.

With intake/full exhaust/tune (that includes higher boost), I could see the 335i being a 12s car if you could get them with an LSD. But I'm sure you can swap in an E46 M3 rear axle or something to fix that.
