I know that kid with the Sat....he's been trying to get me to race him again after I already did two 40 pulls with him with just exhaust and intake....now he think he can beat me even though I have a new clutch and gears.....lol....

am i a tru saturn fan HELL NO, but honestly its SO much fun to roll up on new gt's, mild ws6's, and SS's, stock vettes, and esp the 5.7l gto's or any other mild bolt on car. and just yank them and see look on there face. just because a car's shell says saturn doesn't mean u should judge it cause u could be in for a surprised. i mean aren't there 7 second solaras??!! in the NHRA ? IMO u can't judge any car by its shell anymore. other day i got WRECKED by a dodge neon expresso !!! little did i know hes one of the only people in the state with a ????? swap and it being stage 1, FULLY gutted lol. car was SICK. this thread was posted just to open minds...NOT to start **** or diss LS1'S because i love the ss's and ws6's, alot of my friends have them.

He might beat up on a 1978 with the L48 motor (185 HP) or a L82 220 HP ... but if it was a 1970 LT1 (350 cu. in. SBC 370 HP that really made about 410) it would be a different story altogther..not to mention if it were a 1971 LS6 (454 cu in making 425hp)..he would get spanked terribly...you better know which 70s model you are fooling with..

I can tell you,...i've been apart of an ION build or two(installed a turbo kit, way back, mildy modding since). Never would brag about it in the past but, the ecotec, is a good little motor. This coming from a NON 4 cylinder lover. We've gone from ported blowers, to pulley swaps...nitrous, wet, dry....twin charged(blower and turbo).... back to blower....back to turbo and blower,...now back to a single turbo with log style intake manifold. I gotta tell you, the little ****** is fast. I'm confident it'll beat the ****,...outta alot of cars. Everything, was home,ade, or home thought from my friend Chris(taveraski-nickname)and his brother Eric, and some occasional handing of the tools myself. These guys, spent alot of time. They've had clutch issues, as it's the stock clutch...
However... now, pistons, rods, larger turbo,..and alot of various other things are being installed...and ordered,...as I type. As soon as it's done,...I promise you,...i'll be getting ALOT of video of this car in action.... as it's gonna rock alot of cars...just like how neon's(who erased s-r-t-4?) walk alot of **** now(think, they're trapping 125+).
Anyways...I hate to sound like a hater,..or whatever. I DID NOT READ all these pages,..so, I dunno what was talked about. Just saying, it is, very possible. Very.
Where hoping for 500+ whp. Little 2800lb ******.

Honestly, EBAY owns them. Couple hunder for an intercooler. Probably 800-1000 invested in the turbo(60-1)... silicone couplers from ebay, T-bolts from ebay,...flanges from ebay.... etc etc.
All the prices for everything, I perosnally have the hook up at a few places for performance parts. Now, so do they. As far as parts and installation,..well, we're all mechanic's... so, it's our time,...which, there is alot of. Plus, we wrok at HUMMER, Cadillac, SAAB,...and Saturn. We can get anything we need,...in a couple of hours,..if not, a day or soo. Turbo manifold, couple hundred bucks off ebay. Injectors, everything.....
as is, right now.... 2500 bucks. For about 380 wheel horsepower.
After clutch, which we have,...(exedy)..pistons...rods...arp studs..and a couple of other things...your looking at $5,000.00 bucks. Not including labor.
Not much.
Dude, my blower(normally what, for a kit like mine 7-8 G's?) AFR heads..2500...etc etc ... coil overs...1900 etc etc etc....everything COSTS money, regardless.
My car, parts wise...is like 20-30 thousand dollars. Which is ******* crazy. Thank goodness for trade labor.
The car(the saturn), will be sick....regardless.

wait wait wait wait... pardon me on this but.. are you guys serious? a Saturn Ion can put down around 300 rwhp with minor bolt-ons? My friends rental was an Ion and I gave him 5 lengths and passed him like he was standing still.. Am I missing something here?
