Ls1 Trans am Vs. 383 stroker 3rd-Gen IROC Camaro This just happened, so if the dude who I raced sees this hollar.
Cruising down superstition springs heading to the crib, I surprisingly came up on an IROC Z with his windows down. I had my music pretty loud and wasn't sure why he was all on my side. I thought he was goosing me or somthing so I hit mute and saw he was pulling on my side and so I gunned it. From about a 35-40 roll he was pulling me but I was right with him up to the rev limiter in 1st, so maybe like 55-60?
Anyways. At this point I'm like 'oh ****, I'm getting pulled.' and switch off my MAX A/C.
Were kinda playing down the street right next to eachother being careful with traffic and finally hit a light and I roll down my window and I'm like "damn man, I might be getting pulled here, I had to turn off my A/C" and he's like "yeah I have a 383 stroker and points to the engine" and I said "yeah I have the ls1, you know how it is"
and he points to the back and is like "I have this nitrous too"
and so the light finally goes green and we wait for traffic to get ahead and we both go.. mostly from a dead stop.. I was pretty much dead stopped, I'd say we were both at 5-10 rolls when we hit it.. but we took it up to like 50 and I was pulling him this time pretty nicely. We caught traffic slowed up.
He yelled over he couldn't get anymore traction, and I really had no issues so I just looked over and said "Yeah" and threw him a duce... I was pretty blown at the time
Anyways if that dude is around, I'd be willing to run you again under better circumstances. Nice runs though.
Cliff Notes: 35-50 even w/ me being pulled (w/ my A/C on ttops off)
-------------5-45 even w/ him being pulled badly (A/C off)

we had a 3rd gen with a 383 m5 with 4.10s they are really tourqey down low and hard to hook ...maybe he will post up and want to run again...maybe you can get us a video..

At WOT your A/C has no effect. It disengages when you're racing. You need to run up past 50 from that slow roll...that's a huge driver's race based on who gets traction. I say race him from a dig/slow roll up to about 90 and see who comes out on top!
