Default Z28 vs. Sleeper Mustang

On my way home from a drive tonight, a very nice looking black '99-'04 GT sneaked up next to me at a light. I could hear that this Mustang had something special cooking under the hood. It sounded cammed and had a very throaty growl to it. I decided to treat it as a legitimate threat.

We both turned left onto a nice clear stretch of road and I hung back a bit to size him up some more. I could see that this particular GT had very wide tires and large exhaust pipes hung where the smaller stock tubes used to reside. The overall stance of this machine was awesome, even for a Mustang.

I decided to see if he wanted to play a bit. I rolled up along side of him at around 40 MPH in second gear and waited for him to hit it. And boy did he hit it! I was ready for him, and pulled the trigger as soon as I heard that beast roar. I pulled a couple of cars on him, but not as quickly as I expected.

As I did pull away however, I heard a very familiar whining sound coming from somewhere. At first I thought that it was my turbo acting up, but then I added it all up in my head. Holy crap! That guys got a blower, I thought to myself.

I continued to pull, but I noticed that was because he had backed out of it. I think he was worried about cops in our area. I slowed and he pulled up beside me. He gave me props and said that my car runs strong. He asked if I was spraying and I told him no. I returned the props and asked what he has hiding under the hood. He replied, "I've got an '04 Cobra motor".

Holy crap again!, I thought. I then 'fessed up the whole turbo thingy I had stuffed under the hood, and by the look of relief on his face, I think it made him feel better about the whole incident. He was a real nice guy though. I really want to take a closer look at that Mustang.

Good kill. I'd hate to run into the stang, sound nasty. Where abouts in SoCal?

**off topic** But could you pm me on your set-up? I'm kinda interested as to how you did the whole thing and the cost if you don't mind.

It is essentially the same car, and thus drops right in.

Ive seen a 5.4 witha blower in a Fox. Its doable. Just not easy in those. Should fit fine in the newer stuff.

Sweet kill. Very classy to fess up about the turbo.

There is a 03 cobra badged as a GT in my neck of the woods. A friend of mine in a 02 Z06 met him at a light last week and when he only came out one car ahead he had to ask the GT how it was so fast. Guy said he spent all the money to put badges, hood, and front and rear bumper to make it look like a GT.

Steelo, I will be surprised if your sig last longer than 45 min from this post.

Just thought it was funny for the moment. I figured it was going to be just a tad too big.
