Default Me vs GT35R S2000 and Turbo M3 *video*

We were all hanging out at the downtown Varsity for the big meet on the first Thursday of each month. We ran into each other thru the other ~250 cars that were there. Both guys have been wanting to run my car for a while. Since we were all there it was fairly simple to set up the race. I was in my Z06 (mods in sig).

Both drivers didn't disclose their mods, power, etc. All I know was the S2000 makes 400+hp on pump gas. The M3 said he was making more power since we last raced and wasn't sure of his numbers. He had holes drilled in his headlights to push more air through to his turbo, no rear seats, carpet, spare and was on 15" MT ET streets. He's said before he's in the mid/low 400s and said he weighs ~2600lbs or so. All cars were on drag radials. I ran from the speeds they chose.

First run on the S2000 he wasn't ready. Second run was from 45mph and I let off because the turbo M3 was in our way.

I ran the turbo M3 a total of 3 times. Not sure what turbo he was running but again, it was gutted and on the ET Streets. Only got the 3rd race on video. Beat him the 2 times before.

The S13 was a friend and has a KA 240sx w/ a GT28RS (his daily). We ran into each other on the way home. We just raced for fun per his request. He also has a ~600hp Evo.

Anyways, here you go. My MAF is dirty/clogged and the car kept breaking up and sputtering through all the runs.

Here she is in all her glory.

fast car no doubt.

Out of curiousity, looks like at the 27 second mark, the s2000 was starting to come back or did you left off the throttle? Didn't sound like it but the video was cut there.

My car was breaking up during all of the runs. When it looked like the S2000 was pulling back was because I was shutting down due to the M3 being the lookout car and he slowed down in front of us.

Very very nice kills. Those are some great numbers on a stock bottom end. From the look of it you have some serious pull at the top of the rev range with the 215s and fast. If I ever get around to my build I think thats how I want my powerband.

nice runs, lol dont let a turbo s2000 scare you, those things can make about 320rwhp with maybe 200lbs of tq with a turbo kit, very unlikely he had a built block, everytime ide try to tune one, i get a code

error-404 no-torque

^WTF?

Your saying they can only get another 50Lb of TQ with a turbo kit?

They make more up top and thus dont make much TQ, but they can definitely do better than that with even a moderate turbo.

Heh, thanks Ron. I know I'm not the fastest with my power but it's holding me over for now. I'll probably spray it in a few months. It's enough to beat the guys coming out of the Porsche dealership across the street when I get off work, lol.

If I didn't get these new wheels I could've gotten a stroker for it.

Tool box, a stock motor s2k with a **** turbo kit will make 300rwhp and 230rwtq. I have a built motor, turbo, ext and make over 600rwhp on high boost and 460rwhp and 300lbs of tq on low boost, 15lbs. why do you care about tq that much in a roll race? after 5500rpms tq is no longer in play. When I shift durng a race it NEVEr goes below 6100rpms.

That is an asinine argument. Of course TQ plays a part. You want it to stay flat or drop gradually with RPM. If your TQ falls like a brick, so will the HP with increase in RPM.

Drilled holes in headlight so that air can get to his turbo....even though turbos are driven by the exhaust....

Doing it to make it easier for the air to get to the turbo. The turbo is driven by the exhaust as you said, but the more air you can get to the turbo (compressor side), the better it will hopefully breath in a sense. Hot air under the hood is less dense than colder air from outside the car.

Nice runs btw!
